An article in the latest Royal Air Force Branch and RMG spotlight.
After 108 years of loyal service between them in Hastings Branch and Bognor Regis Branch 381, Cliff and Marion Mewett are to retire after having fulfilled many roles including Wings Appeal Officer (Marion) and Branch and Club Chairman, Treasurer, Branch Secretary and Standard Bearer (Cliff)
Cliff joined Hastings Branch in 1969 where he trained as Standard Bearer before being joined by his wife Marion in 1971.
Between them they became fully involved in branch activities, primarily organising the Wings Appeal, before moving to Bognor Regis in 1987 and taking on the Wings Appeal there at the same time. RAFA Branch 381 - Bognor Regis
Marion, together with support from branch members, has raised thousands of pounds for the Wings Appeal over the years, receiving a local branch certificate for outstanding service and an Area Presidential Award.
Cliff received a certificate of appreciation and a National Presidential Award for organising shows, performing in the Branch Skiffle Band to support the Wings Appeal collection and Remembrance Day collections in the local town. RGM News.
