🥾🌄 SIGN UPS ARE OPEN — Downsman 2026 is calling! 🌄🥾
Lace up your boots, it's that time again! Entries for the Sussex Downsman Hike are now open, and we cannot wait to get back out on the South Downs Way on Saturday 3rd October 2026.
And this year we've got something extra special... for the first time EVER, we're introducing a Beaver Scout route! 🦫✨ Our youngest hikers (aged 6–8) finally get their own Downsman adventure, alongside our classic A, B, E and S classes and the ever-popular Open category. There really is a route for every age and ability.
Whether you're a Downsman veteran chasing a Class A finish, or bringing your very first Beaver colony along for their debut hike, this is your year.
👉 Register your team now: https://downsman.com/ and click the sign up button!
A huge thank you to every leader, hiker, volunteer and checkpoint hero who's made the Downsman what it is since 1967, we genuinely couldn't do it without you. Here's to another brilliant year on the Downs!
See you on the trail 🎒☀️

Come along and chat to the team and see how you can be apart of something special and support your local Scout Group.

Drop in between 6&8pm. There’s tea, coffee possibly some biscuits and looks of friendly faces to chat to.

⚜️ Middleton Scouts needs your help! ⚜️

We’re putting out a plea for more adults to come forward and support Middleton Scouts.

You don’t need previous Scouting experience! Just enthusiasm, a willingness to get involved and a desire to make a difference to young people in our local community. There are lots of ways to help, and every bit of support makes a difference.

We’re holding a drop-in session for anyone who is interested and would like to find out more. Come along for a chat, meet the team and discover how you could get involved.

📅 8 September⏰ 6–8pm📍 1st Middleton-on-Sea Scout HQ

Even if you’re just curious, please come along and have a chat. We’d love to hear from you!

National Lazy Day invites us to sit back and take a break from busy life.

Our mums and dads, caregivers and Scouts volunteers do so much for us, so why not do something for them?

Make a cuppa, take on a household chore or give them some quiet time – it’ll show just how much you care. ☺️
