Any ideas?

We've had this rather unusual contraption donated and we are stumped!

It comes with a selection of clear plastic eggs, which you can lower down into the platform- but why?!!!

If you recognise this please put us out of our misery!

(If you want to see it in person, we're open today (Saturday) until 2pm - and it's Repair Cafe day so there's coffee and cake available as well!)

We are thrilled to have been announced as a finalist for the Chichester & Bognor Regis Business Awards in the Sustainability/Environmental category.

Lots of hard work has gone into the setting up and running of the Scrapstore over the last two years and we are grateful this is being recognised.

The Scrapstore not only makes crafting more accessible by offering low cost crafting supplies but also helps divert crafting supplies from landfill.

We are looking forward to our One Sheet Wonder Cards workshop this Sunday.

Hogarth Designs will be showing you how to make the most of your card supplies, by making multiple greetings cards from one sheet of 12" x 12" paper.

The Resourceful Community Scrapstore is 2 years old!

In those two years we have:
- Rescued more than 5 tonnes of craft goodies from landfill
- Signed up over 400 members
- Saved our members a total of approximately £53000 compared to what they would have paid for the same craft supplies elsewhere.
- Shared skills, resources and chats with almost 700 adults and children at our workshops and activity groups.

And of course, none of it would be possible without our volunteers, who between them have contributed around 2500 hours of work in the Scrapstore - as well as the many hours spent preparing workshops, helping out at events, running social media, etc which all help to keeps the Resourceful Community Scrapstore going - long may it continue!

Come and celebrate our second birthday with us tomorrow (Wednesday 3rd June) where we are giving you £2 off a basket for one day only!

Volunteer wanted!

We are looking for an extra volunteer to help with our new Wednesday session (in case you missed it we are now open every Wednesday 3-7pm).

The vacancy is for alternate Wednesdays - we operate on a four-week rota and we need help on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month.

Not long now till our next workshop.

On Sunday 7th June 10-12 the wonderful Elisabeth Hogarth Designs will be guiding us through making One Sheet Wonder Cards. We'll provide the template and the ideas and of course you'll have your choice of paper from the enormous selection available at the Scrapstore.

This time two years ago we were almost ready to open our doors and welcome members in to fill baskets with crafty goodness.

It took about 6 weeks to transform an empty room into the Scrapstore we all know and love - with three quarters of a tonne of donated craft items unpacked, categorised and displayed on shelves rescued from a local library that was being refurbished.

Then, as now, we needed a whole team of volunteers to get the work done, including friends and family as well as our first two official volunteers, Chris and Charlie - who also had the honour of being member numbers 001 and 002! They still come in to sort, sell and support on a regular basis, alongside other dedicated helpers - and they've been joined by many more members as well!

Here are a few photos of work in progress from those days in 2024.

(Don't forget we are celebrating our birthday on Wednesday 3rd June with a special offer of £2 off a basket for all members - we'll be open from 3pm-7pm.)
