On Thursday evening Bodmin Rotary Club celebrated its 75th anniversary.
We had a fantastic evening with a large number of guests which included visiting Rotarians, members and of the Lions Club, Ladies from the Inner Wheel and our District Governor and two assistant District governor’s.
We had a lovely Vietnamese meal followed by entertainment by Johnny Cowling which was hilarious.
Everyone had a wonderful evening and thank you everyone who came along and made it special.

⚠️ A ShelterBox team has arrived in Nepal and is assessing the situation after catastrophic flash floods devastated communities.

A powerful surge of water, mud, ice and debris washed away homes, roads and bridges, leaving communities cut off and families without safe shelter.

More than 1,000 people have died, over 4,200 are missing, and an estimated 65,000 people have been affected.

Our team is meeting with Rotary International members and other humanitarian organisations to understand what might be needed and how we can best support affected communities.

We are also speaking to potential partners to understand how we could work together to address immediate needs and are considering essential aid items like blankets, sleeping mats, tarpaulin and ropes.

As assessments continue, we'll keep you updated on how ShelterBox can help families recover and rebuild.

Thank you for your generosity so far. Please, if you can, donate today to help families in Nepal 💚👉 bit.ly/4yaDtEj

It was a great honour and privilege to take on the role of President of our Rotary Club. I would like to thank Peter Old for his commitment, energy and leadership he has shown over the past year.
My aim for this year is to build on the strong foundations already in place: to continue supporting our community, strengthen our membership, enjoy our fellowship, and make a positive impact through our projects.
Wishing Roy Curry best wishes as President elect.

Bodmin Rotary Club wishes everyone the very best for Christmas and the New Year.
We think especially of those who will not have a Christmas filled with good food, love and happiness this year.
All around the world and even in our own town there are people suffering in many ways.
The true spirit of Christmas is the joy of giving, not getting.
A time to be grateful for what we have.
It is about forgetting self and finding time for others, not dwelling on the meaningless but reflecting on the values that make our communities strong and supportive of those who need our help.
It’s a time to look forward to a fresh start and hope for a better year ahead.
Merry Christmas 🎄
