Bodenham Parish Hall is one of the largest and most versatile venues and community facilities for the local community and surrounding area, ideal for local groups and special events. Set in beautiful rural countryside, yet easily accessible from the A417, it’s ideally placed to accommodate a wide variety of events. Parking is also easy as we have room for over 60 cars in our flat car park, including disabled spaces. Versatile space if you are looking for a venue for a wedding, a party or a business meeting, we can help you. There are a variety of local groups from fitness to community events such as WI and gardening clubs that run from the hall. If you need a fixed stage, we have one. Also, if you need a smaller sized room for a meeting, we have that as well. With a well equipped kitchen and lawn area the hall is ideal for many functions. There is easy access due to it's slopping entrance and wide doorways. From the A49/A417 Junction at Hope under Dinmore take the turning to Gloucester, signposted Bodenham 3 miles. Enter the 40mph restriction and the Hall is on the left, immediately opposite signs for England’s Gate Inn. The Hall’s post code is HR1 3LB. Registered Charity No 520936

Licensed by Herefordshire Council for public entertainment for up to 200 people. May be booked by any person over 21 years of age.

Many of you will know that MBH use the hall for sessions that have helped many adults and children. They, like many charities, are struggling for funds so please help if you can. 😊

💭 BACK TO SCHOOL ANXIETY 🎒

For some children and young people, going back to school after the holidays can bring excitement… but for others, it can bring worry, anxiety and lots of big feelings. 💛

They might be worrying about:
✨ Seeing friends again
✨ New teachers or classrooms
✨ Schoolwork and expectations
✨ Being away from home
✨ Changes to their routine
✨ Something that happened at school previously
✨ Simply not knowing what to expect

And sometimes, they might not even be able to explain why they feel anxious.

💭 Anxiety can look different in every child. It might be tears, tummy aches, irritability, difficulty sleeping, becoming quieter, wanting to avoid school or needing lots of reassurance.

So what can we do?

💛 Listen without judgement
💛 Give them time to talk
💛 Acknowledge their feelings rather than dismissing them
💛 Talk through what they can expect
💛 Break the return to school down into small, manageable steps
💛 Remind them that it’s okay to feel nervous

You don’t have to take the anxiety away, you can help them feel safe enough to face it. 🌈

At Empowered Youth, therapeutic play can provide children and young people with a safe, non-judgemental space to explore worries and feelings, helping them find ways to express and manage their emotions.

It’s time to get back to routine and hopefully a little bit of normality! 💛

At Empowered Youth, my diary is open for the new school term, offering therapeutic play specialist support for children and young people.
