Update! All hens now have homes!

Thank you so much ❤️

Hens need homes!

We have spare hens on our van to be collected from Pet Place this afternoon.

Around 18 months old these are egg laying hens in a variety of different breeds.

You would need to send the photograph of your setup including your coop and run if you have one by WhatsApp to 07765-053470 asap, and include your name and the number of hens you would like.

Minimum £2.75 per hen donation applies.

Give me a call if you would like to book some

Hi Guys,

Hope you all had a good xmas and new year if you celebrate them.

We've got quite a few cockerals available locally, so if youre getting new girls at the end of the month, please consider taking a boy as well. Ive popped a couple of posts on today with photos and bios, so please get in touch directly through the post if you are able to help out.

If you can't help, please at least share them far and wide in the hope that we can get them new homes.

Please also share the event page far and wide for the next rehome so we can get more interest.

Thanks muchly.

**favorable still looking for a new home *

2 boys lookong for a new home.
Ive received the following:
Both are friendly but defensive of the hens, so the little one is petrified of them and wont go in to the hens now.
Buff Orpington cockerell.
Hatched May this year.
Faverolles Cockerell. Hatched May this year.
Free to good home.
He has been handled well by the kids, but is now getting a little protective of the hens so the little one is scared of him.

If you can.help, please.pop a comment below so the chap can reply directly as I don't always receive messages

If you can't rehome them yourself, please share far and wide to see if we can get them.new forever homes.

Thanks.

**Thanks for all the offers, these have now been rehomed.**

Got a lady that needs to rehome 6 ladies, is anyone able to help please?
The white leg horn has been quite bullied. She had a wound on her back which seem to have healed. It may be an idea to let her go to another flock. The others are fine together. There’s an Araucana mix, blue layer. Sussex, bluebell.
They are just under 2 years old.
Based in Bryngwran.
Please pop a comment below if you can help out so the lady can reply directly .
Thanks

Hi guys. I'm struggling to find the time to do rehomes these days, so was wondering whether anyone would like to volunteer to be a collection point host around Anglesey?
Youd need to put aside the whole day on collection day and some.time the week before to deal with the admin side.
You would need to have a space to be able to hold all the chooks safely on the day prior to them being rehomed.
Ideally have a vehicle that can be used to collect them, but that's not a deal breaker as we can get them delivered if we have enough drivers available.
If you're interested, or want more info, let me know. Thanks.

An Avian Influenza Prevention Zone with mandatory housing measures is now in force in Wales.
GOV.UK

Animal & Plant Health Agency

Due to a significant increase of findings of avian influenza in kept and wild birds, an Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) with mandatory housing measures to protect poultry and captive birds is now in force in Wales. This applies to all keepers of 50 or more birds and all keepers who sell or give away eggs or poultry products (even if they keep fewer than 50 birds).

All impacted bird keepers in Wales must now house their birds and continue to follow stringent biosecurity measures. If keepers fall into a Protection Zone, they must also house their birds regardless of flock size.

Please see the press release on GOV.WALES for further information.

The new compulsory housing measures have been incorporated into the existing Wales Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) introduced in January.

Additional biosecurity requirements have also been introduced for the gamebird sector, which experienced avian influenza outbreaks last season.

An AIPZ with mandatory housing measures is in force in England and an AIPZ requiring mandatory biosecurity measures remains in place across GB.

Please also check the disease control zones on our avian influenza interactive map to see what restrictions are in place.

Definitive requirements are set out in the published declarations for each disease control zone currently in force. More information is available on GOV.WALES and GOV.UK.
