📢 The growing number of young people who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) has been receiving significant media attention this week following the publication of the Milburn Review.
It’s encouraging to see this issue being discussed at a national level. Every young person has a unique story, and behind the statistics are individuals facing a wide range of barriers that require tailored support and opportunities. 🌟
Over the last 12 months, our Employability Project has worked with 365 NEET young people, helping them take positive steps towards their futures.
📚 212 young people gained a qualification
💼 64 young people secured employment
These outcomes demonstrate the life-changing impact that targeted youth support services can have. We hope that the increased national focus on this issue leads to greater investment in the voluntary and community sector, enabling organisations like ours to continue supporting young people who need it most.
We are also interested to see how the Government responds to the findings of the review and what practical measures will be introduced to address the challenges facing NEET young people across the UK. The right support, opportunities, and investment can make a lasting difference. 🤝
