Looks like 3rd Hucknall Scouts had a blast on camp this weekend! 🤩

They celebrated not one for but two birthdays, had the Army attend to give them some training on reaction times, precision games and archery. 🏹

The Scouts also completed some badge work including tying knots 🪢, wood cutting 🪵 and using camp gadgets.

Of course no camp is complete without a campfire, some songs and marshmallows 🔥🏕️

Also a huge congratulations goes to two of their Scouts who were presented with their Chief Scout’s Gold Award after successfully completing all of their challenge badges. Well done 👏

The second visit of the weekend last Saturday was the privilege of being invited to opening of the new centre at Hoveringham 🛶⛵️🚣

Not only was it so good to see so many young people enjoying themselves out on the water but also to witness our very own Chief Scout officially open the building 🤩

Ashfield will continue to spend many hours here on the water! If you want to get involved and have the chance to help our young people out on the water get in touch 📩

4th Hucknall Scouts tried their hand at soap carving on their last troop night 🧼

This is part of their knife skills, some of the Scouts managed a mouse, a gnome and even some cheese! 🤩

Huge well done and cheer of encouragement to two of 3rd Hucknall Scout Patrol Leaders who are just 1 Challenge Badge away from earning their Chief Scout Award 🤩

Great work and we can’t wait to hear all about it when you both gain that last badge 👏

A huge well done to 3rd Hucknall Scouts for completing their task at Wollaton Hall last night! 🧭🥾

Despite the hot weather, they showed fantastic teamwork, determination and great attitudes throughout the evening. The team were incredibly proud of how well they all worked together and kept going in the heat!

Great job Scouts 👏

This week marks Mental Health Awareness Week 💚

This years theme is Action - while awareness is vital, real change comes when we take action too. Together, we’ve come a long way on mental health, but we can’t risk going backwards. There’s still much we can do to prevent people becoming unwell in the first place.

Ashfield Scouts takes mental health seriously and encourage safe spaces in Scouting for both our Young People and Adult Volunteers.

We have volunteers across the District trained in Mental Health First Aid and always welcome a chat or support should you need it 😊
