This month, schools across the UK are celebrating Black History Month 2026, with the official theme "Honouring Our Communities", focusing on the everyday contributions, leadership, and resilience of Black people across Britain.

This year's theme is "Honouring Our Communities", led by Cherron Inko-Tariah MBE.
• Key Focus: Recognising unseen individuals—such as volunteers, teachers, nurses, and local leaders—whose everyday efforts sustain communities.

This year marks 39 years since the UK first celebrated Black History Month in 1987.

What a milestone that is!

This term, we are asking students what social navigation is and exploring with them how to apply it in their lives to connect more deeply with their friends and fellow students. But we want to ask: Do you know what social navigation is? Send us your answers in the comments below.
