Meet the Team – Squadron SNCO 👋

Continuing our Meet the Team series, we’d like to introduce Civilian Instructor Payne, the Squadron SNCO at 2366 (Bletchley) Squadron RAF Air Cadets.

CI Payne plays a vital role in the day-to-day running of the squadron, supporting the Officer Commanding and staff team while setting high standards for cadets. As Squadron SNCO, he is responsible for maintaining discipline, drill, and dress standards, as well as mentoring cadets as they develop confidence, leadership, and teamwork skills.

A familiar and approachable face on parade nights, CI Payne works closely with cadets at all levels, helping to deliver training and ensuring the squadron operates safely, professionally, and in line with RAFAC values.

👋 Meet the Team – Officer Commanding

As part of our Meet the Team series, we’re starting with Flight lieutenant Vadera, the Officer Commanding of 2366 Bletchley RAF Air Cadets.

As Officer Commanding, Flt lt Vadera is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the squadron. This includes setting the direction of the unit, supporting and leading our volunteer staff team, and ensuring a safe, positive, and rewarding experience for all cadets.

The Officer Commanding oversees training, activities, and standards across the squadron, while also representing 2366 (Bletchley) Squadron within the local community and the wider RAF Air Cadets organisation. Their role is key in helping cadets develop confidence, leadership skills, and a strong sense of teamwork.

Yesterday morning at bletcheley park we paraded to st Mary’s church to remember all those that gave their today for our tomorrow.

Monthly Update

The month of May was a busy one, with cadets getting used to their new building. We feel we have almost moved in with the last few boxes to unpack!

Further afield, three of our cadets went to Buckingham Palace to receive their Gold DofE award. This celebrated and recognised their efforts over the last 12-18 months including a very soggy expedition.

Well done to CWO Hope, Sgt Jayasuriya and Cpl Ruston on this achievement.

We have a new home!

Last night, some of our cadets and staff went to our new building to be a part of the opening ceremony and showcase their knowledge and skills from being in the RAFAC.

They were joined by dignitaries from across Buckinghamshire to celebrate this special evening, and the Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire unveiled a commemorative plaque to mark the special event.

We can't wait to be fully settled in!
