Bletchingley Community Choir

Bletchingley Community Choir Bletchingley Community Choir was established in February 2011. We meet every Tuesday evening from 7.15-9.15pm at Bletchingley Village Primary School.

We welcome everyone regardless of musical ability - we learn by ear and enjoy a varied mix of songs. This contemporary choir welcomes new members, young and old alike, be they first time singers, those with some experience, or professional singers. No audition is necessary and no need to read music - the choir meets for the joy of singing.

Some glowing reports coming in from the Gala Performance on Friday night. So good to be part of such a fabulous community event. πŸ’œπŸŽΆ

What a wonderful evening I had last night with the new Mayor of the Borough of Reigate and Banstead at the Reigate and Redhill Festival.

I was blown away by the talented, confident young people I saw singing and playing musical instruments. And there was even some comedy thrown in too. From a harp duet to an electric guitar solo there was a huge range of musical acts.

Thank you to all the volunteers who have worked so hard to organise the festival. And thank you to all the performers last night. It really was a delight to watch.

Last night was something pretty special. We welcomed those who helped set up the choir, those who have spent years supporting us, members who have moved on or moved away and a good collection of family and friends.
There was song, there were smiles, we reminisced and we shared fabulous food organised and prepared by a select few who showed off their talents. And of course no party is complete without something fizzy and some cake. And the cake was amazing (both in how it looked and how it tasted) - huge thanks to Sue.
A superb evening celebrating our first 15 years. πŸ’œπŸŽΆπŸŽ‚πŸŽˆ

Tonight we celebrate 15 years.

It's 15 years since Bletchingley Community Choir was established. As we approach half term and with the success of our recent win at the Reigate & Redhill Music Festival, we're planning a 'celebration sing' next Tuesday, 19th May.

This is a chance for you to come along and see what we get up to on a Tuesday night, hear some of our favourite songs and maybe even learn a new tune for yourself.

If you've been part of the choir at anytime and want to swing by to say hello, we'd love to see you. Or if you've been with us at any stage - supporting, helping us with our events or just a superfan - just let us know you're coming and we'll save a piece of cake for you.

Bletchingley Village Primary School anytime around 7pm.

It's a week on from our success at the Reigate and Redhill Festival & tonight we gather once more.
A debrief?
A celebration?
A full analysis?
Maybe just a little of that but more importantly, we get back to the singing. That's what we enjoy and that's what we'll be doing this evening.

Here's a short film showing our experience of the Reigate and Redhill Festival on Tuesday 5th May. We were over the moon to have won in our class (against tough competition) and are thrilled to have been invited back to sing at their Gala Showcase - one of 24 acts who will be performing on the night chosen from over a thousand entries. πŸ’œπŸŽΆπŸŽ΅

Getting ready for a cup of coffee and a catchup with everyone this evening. I'm hoping we can get some singing in beforehand and then a bit more afterwards.
Tuesday night is one of the highlights of the week - singing and companionship certainly lifts your soul.

Despite the snow and ice, a (slightly reduced) number of us gathered on Tuesday to greet the new year and a new term. We started learning a few new songs but when it came to 'Lights are low' there was a strange noise in the room as people swayed from one foot to the other in time with the beat. It sounded like a choir rehearsing on a seesaw. It certainly raised smiles which turned into laughter in the room - how we managed to keep singing I have no idea.
It's good to be back. πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸŽΆ
