We are delighted to report that passenger numbers for ScotRail services visiting Blair Atholl are up again this year and are now well in advance of numbers before Covid. The Highland Main Line as a whole has done very well year-on-year since 2019/20, but our station has certainly held its own and looks forward to another bumper year in 2026/27.

As volunteers doing daily inspections of the station, we get to meet lovely visitors and hear lovely stories. James (pictured right) used to visit Blair Atholl with his parents when he was a boy. He was travelling down to their home outside Gloucester after a holiday in Plockton, and was keen to show the station to his wife Charlie and son Rhoan (pictured left). They all loved the station!

Thanks so much to Stewart from the Angus Railway Group who shared this picture from a magazine of 54486, taken at Blair loco shed on 13 June 1959. This loco would have been used on local trains, passenger and goods, to Perth.
