We’re really excited to have teamed up with MAC to bring these Easter events to Erris as a first step in building more supports for children and families in the area.

At the moment, interest has been quite low, and in order for autism supports and resources to grow locally, we need to start small and build from there. These events are an important beginning — they help show that there is a need and a community here.

By attending and getting involved, you’re helping us demonstrate that interest. This is what allows us to apply for funding, expand our services, and plan bigger and better events in the future.

If there isn’t an evident need or want for these type of events, unfortunately we won’t be able to move forward with additional supports or larger initiatives in Erris.

We’d love to see you there and take this first step together 💛

Merry Christmas to all our wonderful supporters, champions, and champions to be!
We have achieved so much this past year but none of it would have been possible without the support of our brilliant community.

We are so grateful for all the help, encouragement, collaboration, and support we have received as we work towards making Erris a more inclusive space for Autistic children and adults.

Wishing a peaceful and restful Christmas to all! ♥

✅ **Online Autism in Sport Course**
15 coaches from Belmullet, Kilcommon & Kiltane GAA Clubs trained in partnership with the Erris Youth Disability Network.

✅ **Disability Inclusion Training**
Delivered by Active Disability Ireland in Belmullet GAA Club with 15 coaches participating—funded by Mayo Sports Partnership.

✅ **GAA For All Adults**
Three **10-week programmes** at Castlebar Mitchell’s GAA Club in 2025—hugely popular and growing stronger every year!

💡 **Impact:**

Once again we would like to say congratulations to Erris Credit Union on becoming the first Autism Champion in Erris!

They have participated in training and made adjustments to make the service more autism friendly, such as adding a privacy pod where memebers can conduct their business in a quiet space, and have created a walk through video so members know what to expect before they go.

We are delighted by the response from businesses and organisations in Erris, and currently working with many of them to help them achieve Autism Champion status and make their businesses/services more accessible.

If you would like more information, or would like to get involved you can contact us by email at [email protected]

Congratulations to on becoming the first Autism Champion in Erris! 🥳 Thank you

🤩 🙌🏻SENSORY SMART PARENTING 🙌🏻🤩

We are hosting two consecutive Sensory Smart Parenting Workshops in conjunction with Mayo County Library, supported by the Parent Support Fund and Healthy Ireland.

🗓️ They take place over two dates: Tues 18th and Tuesday 25th November, 10am-1pm. ❗️Participants should attend both workshops.

ℹ️ The workshops will be delivered by Áine Farrell, M.Ed, a sensory informed Neuro Developmental Therapist and former teacher. The workshops will be practical and empowering, designed for parents of children with sensory processing differences.

Parents can expect:
• A deep dive into understanding children’s sensory behaviours
• Practical HANDS-ON as well as PASSIVE strategies that work for your child
• Tips for using sensory toys and equipment effectively
• Confidence to support your child’s unique sensory needs
• Opportunities to ask questions and address your concerns

If you are a parent of a child with sensory needs, and you are unsure how to help, these workshops are for YOU!

Parents will also have the benefit of getting demos following each workshop on sensory, learning, and regulation resources available through our local library.
