World Homeless Day is an important opportunity to recognise that homelessness is not a distant issue — it is a current and ongoing crisis affecting people in communities across the country.

Through our work supporting people who are facing homelessness or are at risk of losing their home, we see first-hand how homelessness can affect every area of a person’s life — their health, wellbeing, finances, relationships, confidence, and sense of security.

When homelessness becomes something we see or hear about regularly, there is a risk that society becomes desensitised to it. But behind every statistic is a person, with their own circumstances, experiences, and hopes for the future.

Homelessness should never become something we simply accept as part of everyday life.

Today is a reminder to keep talking about it, keep challenging stigma, and keep recognising the importance of safe, secure housing and the right support for people who need it.

Today, we remember those whose lives have been lost to su***de, and hold in our thoughts the families, friends and communities who carry their memory with them.

May today be a reminder to lead with kindness, to check in on one another and to keep conversations about mental health open.

Every life matters. Every story matters. And every person deserves to feel heard, valued and supported. 💛

Every person has a story.

Behind addiction, homelessness or difficult circumstances, there is often a journey that others never see. That's why we believe support should always begin with understanding, not judgement.

At FY Housing, we meet people where they're at. We recognise that everyone's experiences, challenges and goals are different, and we tailor our support around the individual, not our assumptions.

Recovery, stability and independence don't happen overnight, but with the right environment, compassionate support and someone who believes in you, positive change is possible.
