Balderstone and District WI
we are over 100 years old, starting our journey in 1919 and still going strong. Country living can be lonely at times and we hope you will join us to make new friends and learn new skills in a fun relaxed environment. Plus it's the WI so there will always be tea and cake available ;-)
As well as our monthly meetings we run additional groups inc. If you would like to sug
gest or even run a group of your own just let us know! What is the WI
The Women’s Institute is the largest voluntary women’s organisation in the UK. It plays a unique role in enabling women to develop new skills and gives them opportunities to campaign on issues that matter to them and their communities. The WI was formed in 1915 with two clear aims: to revitalise rural communities and to encourage women to become more involved in producing food during the First World War. Since then our aims have broadened and we are now the largest women’s organisation in the UK.
