We were proud to be at Manchester Pride this weekend, showing that the NSPCC is here for all young people, including those in the LGBTQ+ community.

Thanks to the generous support of our partner Lidl GB, we were able to attend and celebrate alongside so many wonderful people. It was a joyful day and so much fun!

Children and young people are reaching out to Childline to talk to about their concerns and questions about gender and sexuality. Last year alone, our trained counsellors delivered over 3,000 counselling sessions on the topic

Is your child anxious about heading back to school? As part of our partnership with Matalan, families in Preston can give them a little confidence boost ahead of the new term!

Matalan's Confidence Caravan will be at the Bamber Bridge store between 10.30am and 4.30pm this Saturday, where professional seamstresses will apply positive messages to children's uniforms.

Childline delivered more than 1,500 counselling sessions last year on returning to school or college, and simple, discrete messages like "You're braver than you know", "Believe in yourself" and "We're always behind you" offer a small but meaningful reminder for children to carry with them throughout the school day.

Our colleagues in the North East have written a little about the history of Childline which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.

It's a nice reminder that although the world has changed, Childline's mission has not.

Although the world has changed in the forty years since Childline was set up by Dame Esther Rantzen, and even in the 20 years since it became part of the NSPCC, the charity’s mission remains unchanged – to protect and support children.

Amazing to see Ian's challenges getting picked up in the local media - his August event is a static bike event at his gym, and he's looking for support, can anyone help?

In September, Ian will walk from an NSPCC hub in London to the Hargreaves Centre in Liverpool, and hopes to raise £5,000 to support our work by the end of the year.

Incredible work by our fundraisers in Mansfield, raising an amazing £12,770!

Every pound raised by the committee, the Gillies family and everyone at Sherwood Golf Club will support the NSPCC's vital work in the region and across the UK.

There's still time to share your local knowledge and help deliver the NSPCC's vital safeguarding messages in schools across Rochdale.
Our new Community Builder role will be passionate about helping young people, and will share social media posts, talk to stakeholders and local and online groups about the NSPCC's work in the region.
You'll work with NSPCC staff and receive full training for the role, and use your local knowledge to help shape the charity's work in the region.

We'd love to offer huge thanks to everyone who took part in the 9 mile Morecambe Bay Walk at the weekend! It was a fantastic day, and wonderful to see such a great turnout in such beautiful weather.

It really meant a lot to have so many of you there. We hope you enjoyed the experience, and thanks again for helping raise vital funds to support the NSPCC's work in the North West and across the UK.
