This week, the building that has stood at the heart of our community for generations was reduced to rubble.
For many, Madni Masjid was a place of prayer. For others, it was where they attended an open day, collected support from a food bank, joined a community coffee morning, made new friends, or simply found a welcoming space when they needed one.
Behind the bricks and mortar lies a story of people.
A story of volunteers giving up evenings and weekends to serve others. A story of neighbours coming together regardless of faith or background. A story of families, children and elderly members of the community finding connection, support and belonging.
Over the years, Madni Masjid has delivered food bank initiatives, community open days, educational programmes, youth activities, coffee mornings, charitable fundraising campaigns and countless other projects designed to strengthen our local community.
Now, we have reached a pivotal moment in that story.
The old building has been demolished, not because its work is finished, but because we want to build something even better for future generations, a modern facility that continues to serve not only Muslims, but the wider community of Blackburn for decades to come.
As someone who has witnessed first hand the positive impact this place has had on peopleβs lives, I am asking for your support.
Whether you are Muslim or non-Muslim, local or further afield, every donation, share and word of encouragement helps us move one step closer to making this vision a reality.
Great communities are not built by buildings alone. They are built by people who care enough to invest in them.
