We would like to thank our Head and Deputy Prefects, who along with Mrs Hilton attended the Blackburn & Darwen Poppy Appeal Awards on Thursday. Our children proudly collected an award for helping to raise £125.65 during our Poppy Appeal in November.

Thank you to all our families who helped to raise money for supporting our Armed Forces Community.

Last night we held the Blackburn and Darwen Poppy Awards, schools, youth groups, businesses and volunteers came together to receive their awards for supporting and fundraising for the Poppy Appeal 2024 across Blackburn and Darwen.

Over £72,000 has been raised so far for the Blackburn & Darwen Poppy Appeals, and this is still not the final figure.

Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen Brian Taylor was accompanied by the Mayoress of BwD Nicola Parker, Representatives from Royal British Legion including MEO for Lancashire and Cumbria Joanne McNamara, Lancashire County Chair Andrew Taylor, Lancashire Vice Chair John Southworth and representatives from Blackburn Branch Royal British Legion.

The Blackburn and Darwen Poppy Awards was is by Blackburn & Darwen Poppy Appeals , and we would like to thank all those that attended last night, congratulate all the award winners and a special thank you to Blackburn College for once again allowing us to host our awards ceremony in the Exchange, Beacon centre.

Tonight it’s our annual, Royal British Legion Blackburn Poppy Awards
This is a time for is to thank all the schools, youth groups,businesses and volunteers for their help during Poppy Appeal 2024.

This year the awards will be joint awards between Blackburn and Darwen, all schools, businesses, youth groups and volunteers who helped with the Darwen Poppy Appeal have also been invited.
Going forward the Poppy Awards will be Blackburn and Darwen Poppy Awards.

Please do come along if you have been invited.

Doors open at 6pm with the awards starting at 7pm.
