Last night we held the Blackburn and Darwen Poppy Awards, schools, youth groups, businesses and volunteers came together to receive their awards for supporting and fundraising for the Poppy Appeal 2024 across Blackburn and Darwen.
Over £72,000 has been raised so far for the Blackburn & Darwen Poppy Appeals, and this is still not the final figure.
Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen Brian Taylor was accompanied by the Mayoress of BwD Nicola Parker, Representatives from Royal British Legion including MEO for Lancashire and Cumbria Joanne McNamara, Lancashire County Chair Andrew Taylor, Lancashire Vice Chair John Southworth and representatives from Blackburn Branch Royal British Legion.
The Blackburn and Darwen Poppy Awards was is by Blackburn & Darwen Poppy Appeals , and we would like to thank all those that attended last night, congratulate all the award winners and a special thank you to Blackburn College for once again allowing us to host our awards ceremony in the Exchange, Beacon centre.
