We are looking for Cancer Ambassador to help promoting the importance of early screening for cancers and provide positive health messaging.

The Cancer Ambassador will:

✅ attend a training workshop
✅ have access to the Talk Cancer training from Cancer Research UK
✅ attend health events
✅ engage with participants
✅ promote the importance of screening

There are no age restrictions and anyone who is interested in promoting positive health messages and enjoys talking to people is welcome to join us.

For day three of Volunteers’ Week in Blackburn with Darwen, Community CVS, along with Chip In, Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council and the Lancashire Volunteer Partnership, hosted the Big Thank You in Blackburn Central Library. Volunteers from across the Borough were invited to come along, have a chat with us about who they volunteer for and get a Certificate of thanks to celebrate their contribution to the Community as a whole.

The weather wasn’t great but we were able to move the event indoors. We expected lots of people to come along but we were astounded that nearly 200 people attended, mingled with one another and gave us an idea of just how much volunteering contributes to the communities of Blackburn with Darwen.
