Armed Forces Week 2026

Royal British Legion Blackburn will be attending the Flag Raising Ceremony outside Blackburn Town Hall on Monday 22nd June at 11:00am, marking the start of Armed Forces Week.

Royal British Legion Darwen will be meeting outside the market Hall, Darwen for a flag raising ceremony at 10:45 am.

We would be delighted if you could join us as we come together to show our support for serving personnel, veterans, reservists, cadets and their families.

We will also be in The Mall Blackburn throughout Armed Forces Week, as well as at Asda Blackburn, promoting the work of the Royal British Legion and engaging with our local Armed Forces community.

Come along, show your support and learn more about the services, advice and assistance available through the Royal British Legion.

You can also collect your limited edition “Support Our Armed Forces” Poppy Pin Badge while stocks last.

It’s that time of year again! 🌺

The Royal British Legion Blackburn & Darwen Poppy Appeal is looking for volunteers for the 2026 Poppy Appeal!

From helping at collection hubs and supermarkets, to supporting events, distributing poppies, counting donations, and speaking to members of the public, every single volunteer helps make the Poppy Appeal the success that it is.

The Poppy Appeal helps raise vital funds to support serving personnel, veterans and their families within our Armed Forces community.

📅 Dates we need volunteers to help:

• 10th – 24th October
Helping distribute poppies to businesses, schools and community groups.

• 21st October – 11th November
Helping in pop up stalls and collection points across Blackburn & Darwen.

• 12th – 17th November
Helping collect stock tubs and equipment back after the appeal.

Whether you can spare a few hours or help throughout the appeal, we would love to hear from you. Volunteering is a fantastic way to meet new people, support your local community, and help the Royal British Legion continue its vital work.

THANK YOU BLACKBURN & DARWEN

We are incredibly proud to announce that together Blackburn and Darwen raised an amazing:

💷 £72,174.30

for the 2025 Poppy Appeal between 1st October 2025 and 31st March 2026.

This incredible total would not have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers, collectors, businesses, supermarkets, schools, cadet forces, supporters, and every single person who donated to the appeal.

Every penny raised helps the Royal British Legion continue its vital work supporting serving personnel, veterans, and the wider Armed Forces community through financial assistance, wellbeing support, recovery services, housing support, and much more.
