As part of Volunteers' Week, we'd like to celebrate one of our fantastic local Scout volunteers, Cairon! In this short feature, she shares why volunteering with Scouts is so important to her.

Scouting simply couldn't happen without the dedication, enthusiasm and commitment of volunteers like Cairon. Every week they help young people gain skills for life, make new friends, build confidence and create memories that last a lifetime.

We've had an amazing day today at Williams F1! 🏎️

A fantastic opportunity to look behind the scenes, explore the world of Formula 1, and take part in exciting STEM activities. Experiences like this inspire young people, build confidence, and show where science, engineering and teamwork can take you.

Huge congratulations to three of our incredible Scout leaders who headed down to Windsor Castle to receive their King’s Scout Award!

This is an outstanding accomplishment and a true reflection of your dedication, leadership, and commitment to Scouting. You’ve each gone above and beyond, setting a brilliant example for our young people and inspiring everyone around you.

Congratulations to 2 of our Explorer Scouts who were presented with their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award at our St George’s Day church parade this morning.
During the service, we renewed our promise and afterwards, our new Group Lead Volunteer was invested into the Scout movement.

Some of our Explorers did some mountain biking on e-bikes today in Grizedale Forest. We had a great day and the weather was glorious!

What an unforgettable camp for our Scouts and Cubs! 🌲🔥

Over the weekend, everyone threw themselves into a range of exciting outdoor activities. From the thrill of grass sledging (with plenty of laughs along the way!) to testing their aim in archery, there was no shortage of adventure.

One of the highlights was learning new skills in axe and saw use. Under careful supervision, our young people gained hands-on experience, building confidence and understanding how to handle tools safely and responsibly. And for those feeling brave, axe throwing was a big hit too! 🪓🎯

It was fantastic to see teamwork, resilience, and so many smiles throughout the camp. Experiences like this are what Scouting is all about—learning new skills, challenging yourself, and making great memories with friends.

Well done to everyone who took part! 👏

On Tuesday evening our Beavers and Cubs swapped screens for the great outdoors and headed out on a fun night hike 🌙🥾

There’s something special about being outside with friends – fresh air, a bit of adventure, and plenty of laughs along the way. After their walk, everyone warmed up back at the hall with refreshments and supper together, which made the evening even better.

A brilliant time was had by all, and a great reminder of how good the outdoors can make us feel 💚🌲
