Match day 6

Port Glasgow 5 v Bishopton 4

Came out on the wrong end of an entertaining 9 goal thriller.

Playing into a stiff wind we started well and probably edged the first 20 minutes. Then in the space of 5 minutes we found ourselves 2 nil down. We fought our way back into the game with Zack bundling Sams free kick home right on the stroke of half time to make it 2-1.

Second half and Port scored after a great hit from distance found the top corner . We were pushing to get back into the game and Jamie S scored from the edge of the box to make it 3-2. At this stage we were on the front foot looking for the equaliser. Then out of no where and still trying to work out what it was given for Port got a penalty to make it 4-2. We hit back again when Logan crossed and Zack was there to score his second of the game.

Again we were pushing for the equaliser only to be hit on the break. Despite the Port player being about 3 yards offside the referee waved play on and we found ourselves 2 goals begins again.

We pulled a goal back when Sam nodded home from Ryan's corner to make it 5-4 but despite plenty of stoppages no additional time was played and the referee blew for full time.

Tough one to take with things really not going out way . But a chance to redeem ourselves next week when we play the Port again.

Match day 5

Bridge of Weir 6 v Bishopton 1

Well beaten by the better team today. Found ourselves 2 down inside the first 3 minutes. Could of been much worse if not for Patrick who made some outstanding saves in the first 30 mins.

Went in at half time 2 down.

Second half conceded at regular intervals with Sam grabbing a consolidation with a good header from Adams corner.

Gave Bridge of Weir too much time on the ball and were sloppy in possession throughout the game. Need to defend better as a team but this one we just need to take on the chin.
Need to dust ourselves down and go again next week against a good Port Glasgow team.

Match day 4

Bishopton 0 v Glenvale Reds 2

Tough game today against a team that has always played 1 or 2 leagues above us. The boys put in a good shift but were undone by 2 goals in the last 20 minutes.

Didn't create too many chances today but also limited the amount of chances Glenvale had in a hard fought game by both teams .

On to next Saturday now when we play against a good Bridge of Weir Team

Match day 3

Giffnock 2 V Bishopton 7

We made the short trip to Giffnock on Tuesday night. Despite all the rain the grass pitch was in great condition.

We started on the front foot but 7 mins in with one of there first attacks Giffnock went 1 nil up when we failed to deal with a cross. It took us 10 mins to get even when Michael slipped in Sam who rattled the ball home to make it 1-1. Two minutes later we found ourselves 2-1 down when we failed to clear our lines . The game was even for the next 15 mins with both team creating chances. But it was Sam who scored the next goal from a tight angle to make it 2-2. 5 mins later it was 3-2 with Sam heading home Adams inch perfect cross.

Half time 3-2.

The boys started the second half well and within 10 mins we added another 2 goals. First from a great hit off the post from Jamie S and then Sam adding our 5th and his 4th of the night.
With 10 minutes to go Oscar headed home after some nice play by Jamie S and in the last minute Zack headed home Adams corner.

Good result keeps up a very positive start to the season.

Match day 2

Bishopton 3 v Glenvale Whites 3

We knew it would be a tough game against last year's league winners and so it proved again. After 4 close games last year todays was the same again.

First 20 minutes was pretty much one way traffic with Glenvale on the attack and hitting the woodwork twice and also being denied by 2 top drawer saves by Alastair. Against the run of play we had the chance to go 1 up after Jamie S was fouled in the box. But unfortunately birthday boy Logan missed the resulting penalty. We went 1 nil down when Glenvale finally broke us down and scored from a corner.

Half time 0-1.

Second half started and we got more of a foothold in the game with our counter attacks causing some problems for Glenvale. Sam went close with a couple of headers and we were starting to find some space in behind.
20 mins into second half it was 2 nil. Jamie L tried to stop a cross and was unlucky to see his attempt loop over Patrick into the goal.
3 mins later we got back into the game. Really good team goal starting with Zack at the back. Then Ryan driving with the ball. Jamie L ball into Jamie S who hit the post and Sam was there to fire home the rebound 1-2. Good goal. We were pushing for the equaliser and were then hit on the counter to go 3-1 down.

Last 10 minutes the boys really stepped up. Seb scored a 20 yard screamer against his former team to get us back into the game and with 1 minute left on the clock Jamie S was put through. He saw his shot well saved but new signing Sam was there to fire home the equaliser

Full time 3-3

Well done to all the boys today. Tough game against a good team. Fought until the last minute and got their rewards for it.

Match day 1

Bishopton 2 V Old Kirkpatrick 0

First game of the season and first game in division 2. We knew it would be a tough game against a familiar opponent who beat us the last time we played.

A good all round performance saw us take the 3 points with goals from Sam and Jamie S in the first half securing the win. Every boy played their part with all of the squad getting good game time and all playing well. Delighted to start the season with a win and a clean sheet to boot.
