Corporate Volunteering Days

Throughout the year we have various organisations come along and support us by volunteering on a corporate volunteering day, we meet a wide range of people from all walks of life, many say how much they enjoy the day because they are getting out of the office and doing something different with their teams and colleagues. We are always grateful to everyone who comes and helps out and we regularly get many larger projects done.

Did you know they are open to any young person looking for celebrate their birthday? Yes, that is correct you do not need to be a member of Girlguiding to celebrate a birthday with us.

Did you know you can also hire addition equipment to make your party more special, such as a BBQ.

We offer a wide range of packages suitable for different ages and interests, plus they are available all year. In 2024 our zipwire parties were the most popular.

A safe space training is changing... the new Safer Guiding training is coming soon and will replace a safe space levels 1-3 training to make everything easier to manage and complete. Don't forget to look out for more information coming soon from Girlguiding

The young leader development programme helps young leaders develop their skills, grow their knowledge and celebrate their achievements.

The 12 modules in the programme are designed to help young people to become the leaders they want to be. For every 4 modules you do, you’ll get a badge (pictured). Some of the modules include:
- Connecting your community
- Giving girls a voice
- Keeping it kind
- Looking after you
- Supporting inclusive spaces

This offer has been created with a group of 12 young leaders from across the country over 2 years and tested by over 80 young leaders in autumn 2023.

The programme is open to any member aged 14-17 who volunteers with a unit, including young external volunteers.

Our local county activities centre, Deer Park, Girlguiding Gloucestershire, is fundraising for woodland activities development in the new woodland that was recently purchased. Deer park brings so much fun and adventures for all of our units and we have visited many times in Bishops Cleeve district for things like brownie and guide holidays, camps, rainbow activity days, bubbs hill bash, unit activities such as bushcraft, outdoor cooking, grass sledging , archery and more!

Our project for new woodland activities (Jacob's ladder/vertical challenge & crate stacking) at Deer Park has been selected for a customer in-store vote at Tesco's stores in:

Our local activity centre have activities that our members can book on this summer holidays

Thank you for visiting our stall today at the street fair and a big well done to the brownies for being stretcher bearers at the teddy bear parachute.

We are looking for more more adult volunteers to help with our local units- We wouldn’t be able to run our sessions without our volunteers and we would like to support current groups to ensure they can continue to stay open in the near future. Please contact us if you are able to volunteer.

Hello, we are looking for volunteers for different Rainbows units within our district.

Rainbow volunteers have great fun in a team, running or helping at sessions for ages 4-7. A few units in the area are working on their camp skills badge this term learning about dens, practicing toasting marshmallows, learning about nature and the outdoors and more. Another unit tried creating mini architectures with cocktail sticks and fruit/veg.

➡️ Hard of hearing means people have some hearing loss and might find it difficult to hear speech, especially whispering.

➡️ Deafened is a phrase that describes people who have lost their hearing because of an accident, operation, or infection. Deafened people are likely to have learned to speak, read, and write before losing their hearing.

➡️ People born without hearing or who lose their hearing as a child are often described as Deaf with a capital D. They are likely to use Sign Language as their first language!
