🦋 We’ve had reports of so many Wood White butterflies spotted at Bury Ditches recently — what a treat!

These delicate little butterflies are one of the UK’s most special woodland species, and Bury Ditches is an important local place for them.

If you do spot one, we’d love to see your photos in the comments 👇🌿

🌿 What a wonderful week for Going Wild! 🦋🦇🌱

Over the past week we’ve seen people of all ages coming together to learn more about the wildlife right on our doorstep.

🦋 Moth Morning at St John’s Churchyard brought together over 15 people — both regular moth enthusiasts and those completely new to the group. Dedicated members even stayed overnight to help record, identify and safely release this month’s fascinating catch!

🦇 Mammal Magic on Thursday was another fantastic evening, learning about bats and other mammals, how to monitor wildlife in your garden, and finishing with a brilliant bat walk.

🌱 On Friday, the Wildlife Gardening Group joined Esther Cooper-Wood at the allotment, where we continued making great progress clearing weeds and preparing the ground. Team work really does make the dream work!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined, supported and shared their knowledge this week — it’s wonderful to see the community coming together around nature. 🌼
