Hi everyone ☺️
We have unfortunately made the difficult decision to close the café at Lynemouth 😢 the building is not fit for use as a cafe, and we have had so many issues since we moved in. We have an opportunity to move to new premises, and so now in the process of moving. We will reveal our new premises soon, and it's opening date 📅
We want to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers for your amazing support, especially with our work experience students and volunteers, your patience and inclusion has been so greatly appreciated. We really hope you will pop into the new café once it opens, there will be a free cuppa on us!
Thank you again, and hopefully we will see you all soon ❤️

Good afternoon, everyone fans
It comes with a very heavy heart that I write this post, and it has been one of the hardest decisions I have ever made.
Unfortunately, due to my poor health, I have to close Calmer Therapy and all of its services. I have been poorly for quite some time, and my health is deteriorating, maybe because I am struggling to take the time off.
Not many of you are aware, but Calmer Therapy is financially self-sufficient, mainly because of all the private work I do behind the scenes, which all goes into Calmer Therapy. If I fully take time off, then Calmer Therapy would be in financial difficulty and probably wouldn't survive, or I'd come back earlier, which is what has happened in the past. I have thought long and hard about other options, but I think it is ultimately inevitable that Calmer will close whichever route we chose. I have been struggling for a while, and I know I have been letting people down and not doing my job to the best of my ability for some time now. My family are very worried for me, so this is something I need to do for them and my health.
Calmer Cafe and Stobhill Community Centre are non profits in their own rights, so they are not affected by Calmer Therapy closing and will continue with their services. Some of our staff and volunteers have kindly offered to volunteer on a Friday night to keep youth group running, so any fundraising we currently have and sales of any equipment/toys etc we have will be going towards the youth group. Please be kind and respect our staff, and their privacy during this time, they too are very upset by my decision and have all been made redundant, so may not wish to chat when they see you, its not personal we are all really upset and trying to come to terms with it.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all my staff and volunteers, past and present, for all your hard work and dedication over the years, you have all been amazing and helped us make such a positive impact on our amazing community the past 10 years ❤️
I hope to see you all sometime at the café or possibly at youth group, if I don't then please take care of your beautiful families and I wish you all the health and happiness in the whole world ❤️ Thank you everyone for an incredible 10 years, its been an absolute pleasure being a part of all your journeys ❤️
Thank you Donna ❤️

🌞Today was our last day of hap summer camp 😢
So today was our graduation and awards day ❤️
We had lots of treats today! Sweets, popcorn, nachos, ice cream, slushies, and for lunch we had hot dogs, burgers and pizzas 😋
We started with heads and tails, well done to Freddie who won! Then we had a quiz, and team meerkats won! They all did amazing, we then had free play in the hall before sitting down to lunch and awards. We watched a video with clips of summer HAP 2024 ❤️ A video full of all the good times we have had this summer 🥰 Thank you all for an amazing summer, we heard so many of you today saying it’s been the best ever! 😍

🌞Summer Camp🌞
Apologies for not posting yesterday, so we have yesterday’s camp first 😁
Yesterday we had a messy day, the weather made us cancel a few activities, but still had fun indoors 😁
We had slime making, arts and crafts and made some sensory bottles. Some preferred not to get messy so played in the hall, gaming room and sensory room 🥰
We also had a visit from baby Thomas 👶🏻

Big Box Build 📦📦

Thank you so much for everyone’s donations of boxes! We had so much fun! We split into two teams and had the task of building a house that everyone could sit in and that had a roof!

Everyone did soooo well working as a team! The young leaders were amazing at being team captains!

Well done everyone!! We spent the afternoon playing in the bouncy castle, crafting and the gaming room!

📣 Shout out for help 📣

I’ve got an activity planned for tomorrow and I am just wondering if anyone who is dropping their children off, have any boxes they can donate?

I’ve got a team building activity planned (their favourite 😂)

I would be so grateful if anyone can help me out!

Thank you!
See you tomorrow!

Plessey woods was fun! We built dens, played games, ate bbq food and ice cream, pond dipping and made more memories 🥰

The staff are now having a well deserved two weeks off and can’t wait to see you for the last week!

We will not be responding to any messages that are not urgent till we return in two weeks. Please do not message staff on their personal pages as we are all spending time with our families 😊

👶💙 We are so pleased to announce a new arrival to our Calmer Therapy family 💙
Many of you will know Victoria (Donna's daughter) and Craig, our Cafe manager. They are now very proud parents of Thomas John Wilson, who was born yesterday 💙 He is absolutely perfect and we are already so in love 🥰 both mam and baby are doing amazing, and are now home from hospital 👶
I'm sure you will all meet him soon at baby and toddler sessions 💙
Calmer Café will remain closed until further notice, as we are unfortunately too short staffed due to our summer camps. Our Cafe summer camps are still running by our Stobhill Centre staff, so please don't panic ☺️

The weather was perfect for a picnic for lunch ☀️🥪

Hello, we are at Plessey Woods today and we have had 21 no shows, please let us know in advance if you cannot attend.
We have catered for 45 children with £25 per head budget.
This has been a huge loss for the us and we had a large waiting list.
A number of families have not turned up to any events they have booked, we will be reallocating their zoo places elsewhere.
Thanks

We started the morning with a quiz, well done to McKenzie for winning (she wouldn’t let me take her picture!!)

Everyone enjoyed swimming and those who didn’t go had a chilled afternoon while it was quiet (😱😂) in the centre!

Thank you so much to Reuben for bringing cake to share with your friends! We hope you have a great birthday on Sunday 🎉

Hi
We would like to address the horrific events that took place in Southport on Monday, our thoughts are with everyone involved. It has been difficult as a childcare provider to begin to imagine what they went through.
We would like to reassure everyone that we do have procedures in place and the safety of everyone in the centre is a top priority.
The main door will remain locked at all times, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask a member of staff.
Thank you

30/07/2024

We have a burst pipe at the centre, please could we ask that you can collect your child as soon as possible from the field! So sorry for any inconvenience!
Christie is near the car park please look out for her. Thanks!
