✍🏼 CREATIVE ROUTE • where will your creative eye take you?

… a Friday afternoon to look, observe, sketch and explore.

We’ll take our inspiration from the world around us - visiting local museums and galleries, exploring interesting places and spending time really looking at what we see.

What catches your eye? • What makes you stop and look? • Can you capture it in a sketch?

Through simple drawing and observation, we’ll explore line, shape, form, texture, detail and perspective, developing our confidence in seeing and recording the world around us.

Sometimes the best way to discover art is simply to slow down and look …

FRIDAY COLLECTIVE 💜 space to learn about art • starting soon …

… in our first six-week block we will be exploring PASTEL PAINTING, taking you through the techniques behind creating beautiful, considered artwork.

We’ll explore blending, layering, highlights, shadows, shape, form, colour and tone - building your knowledge and confidence as the weeks progress.

Whether you’re new to pastels or looking to develop your existing skills, come and learn in a friendly, relaxed environment.

✨ What a lovely evening! ✨

We were in Spennymoor last night celebrating the wonderful work created by our community over the past year - and it was really special and such a lovely atmosphere as people wandered around, spotting their own work, discovering pieces they hadn’t seen before, sharing stories and simply enjoying being together.

The walls were filled with creativity, ideas, experiences and the courage to try something new. It’s what makes working within the community so special … the people, connections and moments that happen along the way.

A huge thank you to everyone who has joined us on the journey … created with us, we’re incredibly proud of each and every one of you 🎨💜

And a very special thank you to Michael for Spennymoor Youth and Community Association for giving us such a wonderful space to share it all and for hosting such a lovely evening.

SPIN ART at the The Artists Hub - Bishop Auckland … a spinningly fun day with the Daisy’s, where we welcomed loads of families - and adults too - to have-a-go 🚲🫟

It was also lovely to welcome Point North to the space too and chat about the wondrousness of art and culture, a must in all our lives 💜

STORIES UNFOLD : DAY 3 • the room was even busier today … more young people joined us, bringing with them an explosion of words, ideas and excited creativity. Pens raced across pages, paint found its way onto paper, and stories began to take on lives of their own.

There was something really special in the room today… moments of bravery. Young people sharing pieces of themselves; thoughts, feelings, memories and imagination. Listening without judgement, encouraging one another, and discovering that every voice has a story worth telling.

Three days in, and it’s a joy to watch confidence grow alongside creativity. We can’t wait to see how these stories unfold tomorrow ✨📚✏️

STORIES UNFOLD : DAY 2 • another fantastic day spent creating together … a room full of teenagers discovering ideas, building confidence and letting their imaginations lead the way: sketching • writing • chatting • encouraging • creating.

Today’s stories grew a little deeper, characters found their voices and blank pages became full of colour, words and possibility. It’s been wonderful watching everyone inspire one another and seeing each person’s creativity shine in their own unique way …

… again excited to see what tomorrow brings as these ideas continue to unfold ✨📚✏️
