✨ Our Creative Placements Team are bringing a touch of elegance to its latest project…

🥂 A bespoke Ch*****ne Wall, coming soon for hire at weddings, private parties and special events.

🎊 Rich red floral detailing and a handcrafted neon ‘Bubbles’ sign frame the installation, with ch*****ne served through discreet openings in the wall for a playful, stylish guest experience.

💚 Built using reclaimed timber and shed panels, this project combines creative craftsmanship with sustainability, transforming disused materials into a statement piece for a memorable celebration.

🫶🏼 All our events installations are built by a team of young adults who are autistic or have a learning disability. Our Creative Placement day services help these young adults develop skills, increase confidence and gain work experience.

🎪👷🏻‍♂️ BIG things are happening behind the scenes! The team's been hard at work gearing up for Street Food Fridays - and this year we're bringing the CARNIVAL to you. Using knowledge from previous builds, the team is building some exciting carnival games. Each game is made using sustainable and reclaimed materials that the team have sourced ♻️

❤️ Remember last year's giant LEGO family letters? Building on from last year's LEGO family letters, the team is now working on a massive 5' 9" giant LEGO-inspired heart that will be ready to be decorated live at the food market!

🛠️ Grant proposals are in the works, our next community workshop is being planned, AND yes... Christmas Town prep has already begun! 🎄👀

🎨 Looking forward to seeing some amazing talent from our neurodivergent artists at Artism this upcoming Street Food Fridays- 28th August!

🧑🏼‍🎨👩🏼‍🎨 CALL OUT FOR EXHIBITION SUBMISSIONS

🖼️ Artism Collaborative are hosting an exhibition on Friday 28th August at The Artists Hub in Bishop Auckland as part of our next Street Food Fridays event. The exhibition space will be open from 4-8pm.

🧱 The Artists Hub are also holding a drop-in session - Block Animation, a lego-themed installation - which will bring people into the space, so artists are welcome to display artwork that is lego-themed alongside any artworks they choose.

🖼️ Artists must have work ready to display and can include various artforms.

✨ With the NOVUM Festival now just over a week away, the autumn arch is almost ready for showtime!

🍁 Last week, the Creative Placements team began mounting the leaves made by the group at Arcadea Disability Arts over the last few weeks.

💞 From the MADEby workshop to the Arcadea session’s artworks, you can already see the emerging multitude of colours and textures. Each leaf is unique in its design, created by adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults.

🌈 This installation is set to provide a sensational and immersive experience for everyone during the festival in Newcastle. From 7–9 August, save the date! 📅

🤩 Take a look at some of the brilliant artwork created so far by the group at Arcadea Disability Arts (Arcadea Arts) !

🫶🏼 Our weekly workshops are bringing people together to learn new skills, get creative and be part of a fantastic community project.

💫 The artwork will become part of our next illuminated arch installation, which will be displayed at NOVUM Fest (NOVUM Newcastle) in Newcastle from 7–9 August.

🤩 It’s going to be a very proud moment for everyone involved when the finished piece is unveiled.

🌟 We can’t wait to see it all come together!

Bishop Auckland is still in the race to see if we are through to final bidding for Town of Culture 2028.

Today, alongside towns from across the UK, we're celebrating the launch of the official UK Town of Culture digital map by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

As part of our bid, we've created a digital postcard that captures the creativity, heritage and community spirit that makes Bishop Auckland such a special place.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our bid so far. Whatever the outcome, we're incredibly proud to be representing Bishop Auckland on the national stage.

🍁 Everything is beginning to “fall” into place as bright, lustrous autumnal colours emerge for our latest installation project…

🌿 Last week, Emily used the glue gun to create realistic patterns on the cut-out autumn leaves, using precision and a steady hand.

🪚 Dan used the saw to cut these complex leaf shapes from foam board.

🌟 The team have been experimenting with different coloured materials to create stunning reflective light effects, which will soon bring the new arch to life.

💞 It will also feature the incredible creative work that the group at Arcadea Disability Arts have been creating, along with poetic elements by Gosforth Civic Theatre

🗓️ Once the arch is finished, it will be displayed alongside the other arches at NOVUM Festival in Newcastle from 7 to 9 August.

🌟 Our current project is well underway, with the Creative Placements team preparing the next illuminated arch, which will have a brand-new theme… 👀

🪚⛏️ The team have been hard at work on a range of skilled tasks, with Quinn on the electrics, Tom on the arch woodwork, Liam dismantling pallets and Jayne creating digital nature designs.

💫 The installation will be on display at Newcastle's NOVUM Festival from 7th–9th August.

🌈 Altogether, there will be four illuminated arches, each with a different theme, offering a fully interactive sensory experience for festival-goers through lights, sounds, and textures.

💞 This project is a collaboration with Arcadea Disability Arts and Gosforth Civic Theatre, funded by Newcastle City Council. We are currently delivering workshops in Newcastle, with more taking place over the coming weeks, giving people the opportunity to gain work experience in the creative industries while contributing to a community project.

🚀 It will be a spectacular addition to the NOVUM festival in August, and we can't wait for everyone to experience it!

🌈 The next arch for NOVUM Festival funded by Newcastle City Council is underway… Can you tell what the next theme will be? 🍁

🔬 The Creative Placements Team has been experimenting with different materials to create unique effects using colour, light and texture.

🫶🏼 This arch will be co-created by Newcastle communities, Gosforth Civic Theatre and Arcadea Disability Arts, building on the foundations of Project Equinox.

🌟 Just like the Equinox arches, this installation is expected to be a stunning, interactive illumination that offers a sensory experience at events taking place later this year.
