Another great event for The Junior Pig Club this time at Golden Valley Vintage and Country Fair 🐷🚜

The pigs were a big hit and loved meeting everyone throughout the day. It was fantastic to see so many people enjoying the fair, the steam engines, and all the attractions on offer.

Thank you Gwatkin Cider for inviting us and to everyone who stopped by to say hello, have a chat or just pet the pigs. We had a brilliant day and are already looking forward to the next event!

A great day out for some of our pigs in Liverpool today.
The Junior Pig Club was invited by the National Sheep Association to their 'Farm gate to Dinner plate' Learning Day.

Nearly 600 primary school children and staff took part in engaging, curriculum-linked activities focused on livestock, arable farming, horticulture and food production.

Many of the children had the opportunity to meet, interact with, and learn about pigs and their role in farming up close, building confidence and curiosity through direct interaction.

Learning through real-life experiences helps bring the curriculum to life and creates lasting memories for the children.

Our pigs will sleep well tonight after meeting so many enthusiastic children and staff. 😴🐖

💧 Great news for visitors to the 2026 Staffordshire County Show! 💧

With the warm weather forecast, our plumber and site team have spent the last two days installing additional water refill points across the Showground to help visitors stay hydrated throughout both days of the Show.

You can now refill your water bottles free of charge at the locations marked on the map below 💦

Please remember:
☀️ Drink plenty of water
☀️ Take regular breaks in shaded areas
☀️ Apply sunscreen regularly
☀️ Keep an eye on children and elderly relatives in the heat

Regular visitors will know that this forecast is an unusual one for us - who remembers mudbath'2024! So please remember we've installed these last minute so may not be a flashy water point - but there are taps and it's drinking water - keeping it simple and effective!

As ever huge thank you to the team for getting this sorted

Our junior members have just landed back home after a fantastic weekend at The Great British Farm-Fest🐷☀️ What a brilliant few days making memories, learning new skills, showcasing their knowledge, educating the public and representing the club so well.

Now it’s time for a very quick change before we head straight to Staffordshire County Show this week — this time stepping into the show ring to showcase their pig handling skills! 🏅🐖

It’s looking like another hot one, so don’t forget your suncream, hats, and plenty of water! ☀️🧴💧

It’s great to see schools supporting our junior members and recognising the value of hands-on learning alongside classroom education. Learning doesn’t stop when the school day ends — children are constantly developing new skills, confidence and responsibility, especially when working with animals.

This weekend, our Junior Pig Club members put on a fantastic display for the public, sharing their knowledge of rare breeds, pig care and management, while also showcasing their excellent handling skills.

It was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm, dedication and passion from the next generation of young farmers.

Well done to all involved at The Great British Farm-Fest 🐖👏
