We had a wonderful Christmas meal at FoodCycle Worcester last night! 😁 Our volunteers worked hard to put together some beautiful decorations, a raffle complete with gift hampers, and with a new oven fitted just in the nick of time, our 4 cooking project leaders all worked together to prepare a delicious meal! 🎁🎅

3️⃣5️⃣ guests enjoyed a tasty meal of:
Main: Baked vegetable wellington with roast sweet potatoes, swede mash, parsnips, carrots, broccoli, Yorkshire puddings, gravy, and cranberry sauce! 🥔🥕🍠🥦
Pudding: Mince pie with custard🥧

It was so lovely to see so much joy, collaboration, and generosity in our community - the true meaning of Christmas spirit! We love bringing people together and are thankful for every guest, volunteer, and FoodCycle supporter for making this such a delightful project!💝

FoodCycle Worcester will now be closed over Christmas but will be back open at the Tolladine Community Hub aka The Tolly Hub on the 8th of January - see you then! 😄🌟

We had 5️⃣8️⃣ guests join us for a wonderful Christmas community meal at FoodCycle Coventry today! It was lovely to see the hall buzzing with cheer and guests enjoying some tasty dinner! 🎅🍽️🎄

Our festive menu:
Main: Christmas dinner consisting of Quorn roast, rosemary roast potatoes, carrots, roasted cauliflower, swede and carrot mash, cabbage, apple sauce, and gravy! 🥔🥕🍎
Pudding: Mince pies with custard🥧

Fantastic work from our volunteers! 🙌 Thank you to St Peters Hillfields and every guest, volunteer, and FoodCycle supporter for making FoodCycle Coventry such a wonderful project💝

Great Christmas lunch out! As well as our Quinton FoodCycle Christmas meal this Saturday 20th December ( come a few mins before noon, please) which we are hugely looking forward to, our guests have also been offered a free turkey lunch on Monday 22nd Dec. This is from 12.00 to 1.30pm for up to 70 guests ( first come first served) in The School Yard ( School Yard Session, opposite Boston Tea party), 106 High St, Harborne, B17 9NJ. The catering for this will be by Memories Catering and the meal is organised by the Martin James Group Ltd.

Christmas meal at Longbridge Methodist Church Monday 15th.
The rain certainly didn't put the guests off, with 50 joining us for LBs annual festive meal. 🎄
We started off with...
Peter's Leek & potato soup with garlic croutons, really yummy 😁

Next, Gladys winter wellington,(Quorn,mushrooms,onions, seasoning), green beads with Gabe on parsnips, sprouts, carrots,gravy, stuffing. PL Lynne on roast potaoes.

We finshed off with PL Lynne fruit cake, a seperate fruit cake for those with different dietary needs, and Gemmas mini cinnamon and ginger cupcakes 🧁
With the volunteers eating aswell, we served 61 in total !

All the volunteers excelled themselves, they were truly amazing, coming in early to cook, bag up the extra goodies bags, setting up the raffle, also the gifts for everyone on the table, plus the mountain of surplus food.
The guests were full with food, laughter, company, surplus food, gifts, many happy faces. 😁

So to the thanks....
Without the generous support from the volunteers, Longbridge Methodist church, Jody & Teal, LB wouldn't be as successful !

Christmas 🤶 🎅 at Falcon Lodge
4️⃣0️⃣ guests joined us for festive fun, a delicious meal and good community spirit. 14 volunteers lined up to cook & serve 40 hot three course dinners:
🧅Butternut Squash & Leek Soup🥣
🧅Full Quorn Roast dinner 🍽️ Potatoes, Parsnips, Red Cabbage, 🥕, sprouts, Stuffing and Gravy
🧅Trifle for dessert🍧
The quiz ran between courses; there were raffle prizes won and everyone received a present courtesy of the generosity of customers at Renato Bar in Mere Green who have supported us for a few months now. Thank you 🙏 Renato Lounge

🎄 The Christmas Spirit is Already Shining Bright at Foodcycle Kingstanding! ✨

What an incredible day at our community meal yesterday! Even with a reduced volunteer due to some no-shows (we missed you!), the heart of our amazing volunteers was glowing brighter than any Christmas lights!

Thanks to their hard work, and the generous donations we received, we were able to serve a whopping 60 guests a delicious, FREE community meal which included 2 children! (We were at capacity and hate to do it, but had to turn a few people away for health and safety. We'll try to find more space soon!)

In addition to our regular supermarket surplus heroes, this week was extra special thanks to some incredible community support:

🍎 **Maney Hill Primary School:**
Thank you for the generous donation of tinned foods and grocery items! You truly brightened our shelves.
🥦 **FareShare:**
Your donation of fresh vegetables made our main course shine!

Our guests enjoyed a full, delicious, and FREE three-course meal:

Starter - Warm Butternut Squash Soup with bread.
Main - A delicious FoodCycle Quorn Roast Dinner with rich gravy.
Pudding - A comforting Strawberry and Apple Sponge with creamy custard.

Not only did everyone get a fantastic meal, but the generosity of our donors meant we could send every guest home with a generously filled surplus bag of food!

A big pat on the back for our FoodCycle Worcester team yesterday! 👏Despite having no working oven our fantastic kitchen team were able to put together a tasty 3-course meal 🙏😮

Starter: Garlic mushrooms on toast with salsa 🍄‍🟫🍄
Main: Pumpkin curry with rice 🎃🍚🍛
Dessert: Banana bread with grapes and custard 🍌🍮🍇
Great work team!

Yesterday 18 of our FoodCycle Falcon Lodge volunteers were treated to an exclusive Christmas Meal hosted by the Renato Lounge in Mere Green 💝 The Renato Lounge have been supporting us over the last few months with grocery donations for our project and have now helped us give our volunteers a big thank you for all their hard work this year!😄

We enjoyed a chicken roast dinner or vegetarian Christmas curry, followed by berry pavlova and mince pies! 😋

What a wonderful evening full of smiles and festive cheer! 💁‍♂️🎉

Today we had 4️⃣0️⃣ guests join us at FoodCycle Coventry to enjoy a scrumptious three-course menu of:

Starter: Roasted tomato soup with croutons 🍅
Main: Cauliflower and broccoli cheese 🥦🧀
Dessert: Apple bread and butter pudding 🍎🍞🧈

Everyone left with a full belly and a big smile 😆 Great work team!🙏
