Great advice on how to stay cool over the hot days ahead...

It's another scorcher this week! Take extra care this week as we face another heatwave, with an amber warning in place for Thursday 13th August, from 9am to 11:59pm.

Here's a few tips to help stay safe in the heat:
➡️ Keep hydrated by drinking plenty of cool fluids
➡️ Apply sunscreen regularly to avoid sun burn
➡️ Keep indoor spaces cool by closing blinds or curtains in sun-facing rooms
➡️ Stay indoors during the hottest times of the day (usually between 11am-3pm)
➡️ Check in on elderly or vulnerable neighbours
➡️ Watch out for signs of heat-related illnesses if you or a friend, family member or neighbour feels unwell

The dry weather also increases the risk of wildfires across parks and open spaces. You can stay safe and help prevent risk of wildfires by:
➡️ Leaving BBQs at home
➡️ Taking litter, especially glass bottles, home with you to dispose properly
➡️ Disposing ci******es safely, not throwing them out of car windows or on dry grass
➡️ Report signs of fire or suspicious activity immediately
