Community Fishing Project – Have Your Say

Cllr Curtis Brittain is currently exploring the possibility of developing a community fishing project at Frankley Reservoir.

The project is currently at an early consultation stage and no decisions or funding commitments have been made. The purpose of the consultation is to establish whether there is sufficient interest from local residents to explore the proposal further.

Residents are invited to share their views, including whether they or members of their household would use a community fishing facility, how frequently they might use it, and any ideas or suggestions they may have for the project.

Please see the consultation poster for further information.

Views can also be sent directly to Cllr Brittain at:

💚 Today is Youth Mental Health Day.

A reminder of how important it is to create space for young people to talk, feel heard and know that support is available when they need it.

At Balaam Wood, we’re committed to supporting the wellbeing of our pupils and encouraging everyone to look out for one another.

Sometimes, simply asking “Are you okay?” can make a difference 💚

💚 The Impact of Your Support

Last month, together we made a real difference across our community:

🏠 18 households received 85 pieces of free furniture
👕 415 pieces of free school uniform were provided
🥫 81 households received emergency food parcels
🛒 131 people accessed our Community Supermarket
🛋️ 141 people generously donated furniture

Every donation, purchase, volunteer hour, and act of support helps make this possible.

Thank you for helping us create brighter futures and stronger communities.
