This July, The People’s Orchestra and Show Choirs are back at the incredible Symphony Hall with their most interactive concert ever: The People's Orchestra & Choirs: Jukebox Live! Get ready for a feel-good night of live music where you pick the songs and we bring them to life.

From incredible film scores and pop favourites to Disney showstoppers and 80s anthems, you call the shots. Whether you’re grooving to The Greatest Showman, belting out Wicked or chanting for Ghostbusters, it’s time to vote for the tunes you want to hear performed by our massed orchestra and community choirs in a dazzling summer celebration.

How has it already been almost two months since The People's Show Choir lit up the stage with The People’s Orchestra and The Rusty's South Birmingham and Black Country at the brilliant Elgar Hall in Birmingham?

We are still buzzing with pride at how every ensemble came together to create a truly magical day, packed with festive music, Christmas sparkle, and heartwarming winter spirit.

The People’s Show Choir is launching a brand new choir in Dudley, and we’re looking for a friendly, confident pianist/accompanist to join our team!

Mondays (term-time only – 36 rehearsals per year)
7:30pm – 9:00pm
Primrose Hill Community Church, Chapel St, Netherton, Dudley DY2 9PN
£45 per rehearsal
Piano/keyboard provided on site
Starts Monday 23rd February 2026

We sing uplifting, feel-good music mainly from stage & screen, with the occasional venture into rock and pop. You’ll always receive piano scores in advance. You will be welcomed into a supportive, welcoming environment.

We’re a charity focused on community, belonging and confidence-building, making this position a perfect fit for:

• Piano teachers
• Freelance accompanists
• Retired music teachers
• Anyone who loves playing with a great group of people

There may also be opportunities for optional extra paid work through events and performances.

The People’s Show Choir is launching its first Choir Leader Training Course this March at West Bromwich Town Hall – perfect for singers, teachers and community‑minded musicians ready for a new challenge.

Led by Chris and Ula Weber, the two‑day course blends hands‑on conducting with real‑world community leadership skills. As Chris says:

“This course is a way for us to say ‘come and learn how to be a TPSC Choir Leader’ and if people do well on the course and are good enough, they’ll get a job with us.”

Farewell October, hello November! 👋 It's great to be back after half-term! Now the spooky season is over, it's finally acceptable to start shamelessly singing the rest of our uplifting Christmas songs! Can't believe all our choir across Halesowen, Cheltenham, Dorridge, Sutton Coldfield et al are gonna be performing them en masse in 5 weeks time (eek!!)

Our choir family at the The People’s Show Choir is growing! We’ve launched two new branches this autumn — one in Walsall and one in Cardiff — as part of a long-term plan to thrive despite cuts in arts funding. 🎼

With membership tripled in three years, these new groups mean more chances for people to sing, connect and enjoy the benefits of choir life. 💬

Our orchestras and choirs are bursting with energy — and we’ve had some incredible moments lately that prove it! From show-stopping performances to heart‑warming community projects, there’s never a dull moment in our musical family.

At our unforgettable MAC event in Edgbaston, we paid tribute to Birmingham’s own rock icon Ozzy Osbourne. The audience went wild as we tore into one of Black Sabbath’s biggest hits, Iron Man — a fitting salute to a true musical legend that had everyone cheering.

Meanwhile, members of our Wimbledon and Woodford Green Show Choirs joined forces for an unforgettable summer, performing together in London and later taking to the streets of York with joyful, spontaneous performances. Conductor Chris Weber summed it up perfectly: “It’s wonderful to give members the chance to do something special over the summer — it keeps everyone connected and reminds us that our organisation is all about friendship, fun, and more than just the music.”

And now, the countdown is on for our Something Magical Christmas shows! It’s never too early to embrace the festive spirit — and this year, the Christmas cheer is rolling into Birmingham, London, and Cardiff, and you won’t want to miss it!
