The first Project RED-D toolkits are now available!

RED‑D stands for Relative Energy Deficiency in Dance, it occurs when a dancer’s energy intake doesn’t meet the physical and psychological demands of training, performance, and daily life. It’s more common than many realise.

The Project RED-D Team's aim is to create a comprehensive, accessible hub of evidence-based information and practical support for the dance community. These toolkits are just the beginning, with many new toolkits and practical resources being added throughout 2026. Follow them on Instagram or sign up for their newsletter for updates.

Alongside the toolkits, you will also find a growing collection of resources, including dancers' stories and interviews, research articles, expert perspectives, thought pieces, and spotlight features highlighting inspiring work taking place across institutions and organisations worldwide.

The Project RED-D Team is committed to making evidence-based information accessible to the global dance community; these toolkits are currently available in fourteen languages. Meaningful change requires inclusive access to information, and they are proud to take this important first step towards supporting dancers and dance professionals around the world.
