Westside BID Westside BID aims to create a safer, cleaner and brighter business environment.

Westside is Birmingham’s central hub for entertainment and business, with 15,000 people employed in over 300 businesses throughout the area, including offices, hotels, pubs, clubs, restaurants and leisure venues. It also includes the International Convention Centre, Barclaycard Arena, the National Sea Life Centre, the award winning Brindleyplace, Broadway Plaza and Five Ways. The Westside Business Improvement District (BID) was formerly known as Broad Street BID and was established in 2005. We work to create a more attractive, better marketed, brighter, safer and cleaner business environment.

🚀Refocusing for the final quarter of 2026

It was great to bring professionals from across Westside's community for another Westside BID Lunch & Learn session.

Held at the Hilton Garden In Brindleyplace, the session focused on wellbeing, goal setting and making the most of the final months of the year, led by Westside’s Wellness Consultant, Harriette Luscombe.

Through practical activities, reflection and conversations, attendees had the opportunity to step away from their usual routines, share ideas and explore tools they can take back into both their working and personal lives.

Birmingham Mind is bringing its festive fun run back to Cannon Hill Park on 29 November 2026, raising vital funds for mental health services across Birmingham and Solihull. 💚
There are 5km and 1.5km routes, and the charity is also looking for volunteers to help make the day a success.

Our Business Liaison Manager Elaine Weir and Westside Warden Enoch, recently met with Aleksandar, the new General Manager at Turtle Bay in Brindleyplace.

It was a great opportunity to welcome Aleksandar to the district, introduce him to Westside BID and the work we do, and give him an overview of the area and our role in supporting the local business community.

We look forward to continue working closely with Aleksandar and the Turtle Bay team, supporting their business and strengthening our partnership as we continue to make Westside a vibrant and welcoming destination.

Birmingham city centre will become a celebration of motoring and transport heritage next month when Brum Transport Fest arrives on 18th and 19th September 2026.

The free festival, organised by Colmore Life, will feature more than 100 classic vehicles, heritage buses and displays across Victoria, Chamberlain, Hippodrome and Centenary Square.

PRESS RELEASE: Birmingham Heritage Week 2026 runs from Friday 11 - Sunday 20 September 2026 and you are invited... ♥️

Our full programme listings for 2026 opens for BROWSING ONLY on Saturday, 8 August at midday.

Official bookings opening the following Saturday, 15 August at 10AM.

The annual festival, widely regarded as one of the most popular history and heritage events in the Midlands, will run for 10 days in September.

Among this year’s most eagerly-awaited events are rare opportunities to venture into the ever-popular Mailbox Birmingham to New Street tunnels, explore the atmospheric catacombs beneath Warstone Lane Cemetery (Friends of Key Hill Cemetery & Warstone Lane Cemetery Est 2004. Birmingham) in the Jewellery Quarter, and step aboard historic locomotives at Tyseley Rail Depot with Vintage Trains.

With a mountain of programme events now finalised, festival organisers are encouraging visitors to start planning ahead of what promises to be one of the busiest years yet.

Events are expected to sell out quickly once bookings open on 15 August, so mark your calendars accordingly!
