🌍🧡 TODAY IS WORLD HOMELESS DAY 🧡🌍

Today, our thoughts are with everyone experiencing homelessness, whether sleeping on the streets, sofa surfing, living in temporary accommodation or simply not knowing where they will sleep tonight. 🏠

We hope that those who need support find their way to a Tabor, or to another place of safety, warmth and kindness. 🧡

At Tabor Living, we believe everyone deserves more than somewhere to sleep. They deserve to feel safe, welcomed, valued and supported, with the opportunity to take those next steps towards a more independent future. 🌱🏡

Today, and every day, we will continue to do what we can to:

🧡 Help someone sleep safely tonight.
🧡 Offer hope for tomorrow.
🧡 Support the journey towards independent living.

And to every volunteer, donor, fundraiser, organisation and friend who helps us do this, thank you for standing alongside us. 🙏🧡

Tomorrow is World Homeless Day!

What a perfect day to celebrate, connect and say THANK YOU! 🙌🧡

Today, Caroline and Marie are attending the LoveBrum Causes Conference 2026, looking forward to meeting people, listening to some fantastic speakers, sharing ideas and celebrating the amazing work happening across our communities. 🤝✨

And with just ONE DAY TO GO, we want to celebrate what our wonderful Tabor Living community has achieved so far this year! 🎉

🏠 28 guests supported
🧡 137 incredible volunteers including corporate volunteers
⏰ 2619 amazing volunteer hours given

WOW! What an impact! 👏👏👏

But these aren't just numbers. Behind every statistic is a person, a conversation, a helping hand, a hot meal, a safe night's sleep and another step forward. 🏠🌱🧡

Today, our countdown is about our STRENGTHS-BASED APPROACH. 💪🌱

At Tabor Living Birmingham , we recognise that everyone’s journey is different.

We might look at someone’s situation and see one hurdle, but our guest may see a completely different hurdle standing in their way. That’s why we listen. 👂🧡

Rather than deciding what someone needs, we work with our guests, recognising their strengths, abilities and experiences and supporting them to set the goals that matter to them. 🤝

One step at a time, we’re there to encourage, support and celebrate progress along the way. 🌱👣🏡

Because it’s their journey, their goals and their future. 🧡

Today, our countdown is about DIGNITY.

Everything we offer at Tabor Living Birmingham is provided with dignity, kindness and respect. 🧡

🏠 A safe, warm and dry place to stay
🍽️ Nutritious meals
🚿 Washing and laundry facilities
🛏️ A clean and comfortable environment
🤝 Support, encouragement and someone to listen

But dignity is also about helping people keep moving forward. 🌱

We want to give our guests as much support as possible to continue working while experiencing homelessness, return to employment, or take the steps that will help them become ready for work again. 💼

Having a safe place to sleep, clean clothes and the right support can make such a difference when someone is trying to rebuild stability and work towards their next goal.

Because homelessness should never define a person. 🧡

Everyone deserves dignity. Everyone deserves opportunity. Everyone deserves hope.

Today the cleaners are busy at Tabor Living Birmingham! 🧹✨

Offering a safe, warm and dry place is incredibly important, but so is making that place clean, comfortable and welcoming.

We believe everyone deserves somewhere they can feel respected and cared for. 🧡 A clean and tidy environment can also give our guests the space to think, focus and work towards their next goal and greater independence. 🏡🌱

It's more than cleaning. It's about dignity, wellbeing and creating a place where people can move forward. 🧡

The countdown has begun. Day 6.

On this final Sunday before World Homeless Day, we invite our friends and supporters to take a moment to pause and think about everyone experiencing homelessness.
🙏 For some, that may mean offering a prayer.
🧡 For others, it may be a moment of quiet reflection, hope or positive thought.
However you choose to show your support, please know how much it means to everyone at Tabor Living.
Today, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who stands alongside us. Not only to those who support us financially, but to those who volunteer, donate items, share our work, offer encouragement, and keep our guests, volunteers and staff in their thoughts and prayers.
Every act of kindness matters.
As we count down to World Homeless Day, let us continue to remember the people behind the statistics and work together towards a community where everyone is seen, valued and treated with dignity and compassion.

🧡 Day 7: Countdown to World Homeless Day 🧡
Today’s word is KINDNESS. 🧡

At Tabor Living, we are here to provide the essentials our guests need: a safe place to stay, a warm and dry bed, nutritious meals, laundry and washing facilities, alongside the support they need to move forward.

But sometimes, it’s the little extras that can make someone feel truly cared for. 🧡
We aren’t always able to afford those nice-to-have treats, which is why acts of kindness mean so much to us.

A huge thank you to an anonymous donor who recently gave us five boxes of Quality Street to share with our guests.
Something so simple brought smiles and gave our guests a little treat to enjoy.
Kindness doesn’t always have to be a grand gesture. Sometimes it’s simply about letting someone know they are thought of.

Today, we’re celebrating our amazing volunteers! 🙌
At Tabor Living, we simply couldn’t do what we do without the time, energy and kindness of our wonderful volunteers. 🧡

A very special thank you to the fantastic team from HSBC, who are always ready to roll up their sleeves and help whenever we need them.
Thank you for the wonderful dishes you created 🍲, for helping to make our spaces lovely and clean ✨, and most importantly, for giving your time so generously.
Every meal prepared, every room cleaned and every hour volunteered helps us provide a warm, welcoming and safe place for someone experiencing homelessness.
From everyone at Tabor Living, thank you to HSBC and to every single one of our incredible volunteers. Your kindness and continued support really do make a difference. 🧡
