LinkedIn: http://bit.ly/IRWLinked Since we received our first donation in 1984, we have helped millions of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people. Inspired by the Islamic faith and guided by our values, we believe that people with wealth have a duty to those less fortunate – regardless of race, political affili

ation, gender or belief. We protect communities from disasters, and deliver life-saving emergency aid. We provide lasting routes out of poverty, and empower vulnerable people to transform their lives and their communities. Our global family includes national offices, affiliated partners and field offices. We also own a subsidiary company based in Birmingham, UK, which raises funds for our work by collecting and recycling clothing. TIC International also conducts food activities, largely related to canned meat for aid purposes. Our work:

Islamic Relief works with communities to strengthen their resilience to disasters, and we provide vital emergency aid when disasters occur. We help poor people to access basic services, including education, water and sanitation, as well as healthcare. We provide lasting routes out of poverty through our sustainable livelihoods schemes. Our integrated approach to development is transforming communities worldwide. We tackle the root causes of poverty and make sure that the world’s most vulnerable people have a strong voice and real influence in both our programmes and advocacy. Islamic Relief is also a policy leader on Islamic humanitarianism, and our research programmes develop distinctive, practical approaches to the key issues that are affecting our world today. If you have any concerns – relating to safeguarding or otherwise – or want to make a complaint please email us: [email protected]. You can also write to us at:

📚 From the archives

Social justice has been at the heart of Islamic Relief’s work for decades.

This International Archives Week, we’re looking back at some of the people, projects and moments that reflect our commitment to standing alongside vulnerable communities, championing rights and opportunities, and advocating for a more just world.

From girls’ education and women’s economic empowerment to tackling discrimination and climate injustice, these archive records help tell the story of the values that continue to guide our work today.

🔴 A powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake has struck Southern Mindanao in the Philippines.

Initial reports indicate at least 32 people have lost their lives and around 200 have been injured, with search and rescue operations continuing.

Millions of people have been affected across the region, and damage to homes, public buildings and infrastructure has been reported.

Islamic Relief will be providing urgent aid and is coordinating with local authorities and humanitarian partners to ensure support reaches those most affected.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and communities affected as rescue efforts continue.

In Syria we're using 3D printing to provide prosthetic limbs to children!

Since we helped found Al Amal Centre it's helped more than 3,000 people who have lost limbs - like 12 year old Itab who was playing with his friends when an airstrike hit them. Today Itab has a new leg and can play football again, but many more children continue to be injured by explosive remnants of war. The clinic's waiting list is longer than ever.

Find out more about one of Syria's most innovative clinics

An Idlib clinic is using digital scans and low-cost manufacturing to produce prosthetics in a country shaped by war.

🌍 Meet Nasheima, our Senior Safeguarding Coordinator!

From supporting staff and rightsholders to strengthening safeguarding practices across our global offices, Nashiema’s work helps ensure people remain at the heart of everything we do.

“What first attracted me to Islamic Relief was its humanitarian mission. I joined during lockdown on a maternity cover contract and, despite the challenges of starting remotely in a completely new sector, I’m glad I stayed the course. Nearly six years later, it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.

As a Senior Safeguarding Coordinator, I find my work incredibly rewarding because it directly benefits both staff and the communities we serve. I’ve also had the opportunity to visit country offices around the world, deliver training, and meet rightsholders firsthand, which continually motivates me to improve my work. Over my time here, I’ve travelled to 11 countries and worked with colleagues across Africa, Asia and the Middle East, gaining a fascinating insight into humanitarian work.

For anyone considering a career at Islamic Relief, I’d say keep an open mind. I came for a year and nearly six years later, I’m still here — a sign of just how much I’ve enjoyed being part of the organisation.”
