Midland Wine & Spirit Association

Midland Wine & Spirit Association Est.1905 we connect our professional community making the Midlands wine & spirits vibrant & dynamic Do you work in the wine trade and are based in the Midlands?

Established in 1905 when a group of midlands-based independent wine & spirit merchants got together to discuss issues relating to the trade. Today our members include regional businesses in the on & off trade, local branches of national companies, wholesalers, importers, producers and local English winemakers.

Our mission is to build a midlands-based professional wine community, by connecting lo

cal MWSA members together. We strive to keep our members up to date with current legislation whilst providing them with networking opportunities via wine tastings and social events. We also raise as much money as possible for The Drinks Trust our chosen trade charity.

We have close links with all of the major trade bodies, the The Wine and Spirit Trade Association WSTA, the Wine & Spirit Education Trust WSET and other regional trade associations, all of whom our members can contact for free advice & information. Then become a fellow MWSA member today!

The consortia of Alto Adige DOC wines, Etna DOC wines and Pecorino Romano PDO cheese have joined forces in a three-year promotional campaign in the UK. Despite their geographical distance with Alto Adige being the northernmost winegrowing region in Italy and Etna being located in the southern Italian island of Sicily, the two DOC-regions have many similarities: The guarantee of high-quality production and their unique terroir. The presented wines from Alto Adige DOC & Etna DOC will be accompanied by a diverse selection of food around Pecorino Romano PDO.

The tasting will be led by Christine Marsiglio, a Master of Wine since 2019. She was awarded the prestigious Bollinger Medal for excellence in tasting during the Master of Wine exams. Christine also leads as the Director of Education at Wine Folly, where she contributes her extensive expertise in the field.

This is a great opportunity for our current members to meet up discover more about the MWSA. If you’d like to attend why not become part of our growing Midlands wine network today and join us.
