Not many more weeks left for this season....but we'll be making the most of it while we can. Oh what a (very busy) night! We packed A LOT in on Tuesday's parade.
Whilst our Trustees, along with Vbsm-sw Will Elliott were busy conducting this years AGM, and electing new members of our Unit Management Team... in our refurbished boat deck, staff and cadets were taking part in our Monthly Divisions (making sure we, and our uniforms, are up to the high standards we strive for). We passed with flying colours🙂. Only one problem....but its a very nice problem to have... there were that many awards presented last night that there's going to be A LOT of sewing🧵🪡.
Cadets (and Staff) have achieved the following through hard work, commitment, and determination. They should be as proud of themselves as we are of them🤩 Many were awarded multiple certificates and badges for a variety of disciplines and achievements.
In no particular order...Rock climbing🧗‍♂️ mountain biking🚵‍♂️, RYA Level 2 & 3 sailing⛵️, RYA Dinghy Instructor, Discover paddle sports🚣‍♂️, CIS🗣 Coxswain📣, rank progression, 1 & 2 year Good Conduct Stripes ✔️✔️and RYA Essential Navigation and Seamanship🧭 for PO Dave Simmonds.
We were able to make use of the newly installed lights on the parade ground as the rain stayed away.
We had a letter of recognition from our Unit Chair who, due to unforeseen circumstances, couldn't be there in person. She has a boundless amount of experience in the Sea Cadet World and the praise received meant an awful lot🙏...we're going in the right direction.
And finally....had the opportunity to give a big 3 cheers to our newly confirmed in post Commanding Officer.

It's Sunday and still warm enough for Waterbourne activities and fun, so we've been at Sea Cadets Midlands Boat Station . Sailing, kayak and SUP today.

We've also revealed our new logo'd kit for when uniform is not required - issued to volunteers today and we'll shortly be able to take orders from our cadets. Keep an eye 👀 open for announcements.
