"I seek a balance between immediacy and complexity. The music has to excite me in the first place and then have the ability to connect with an audience."

Charlotte Bray is an esteemed and in-demand British-German composer with an uninhibited ambition and desire to communicate. As part of our Still Life concert on 21 June, BCMG will perform a her 2018 work 'Reflections in Time'. "The piece was inspired by my newborn twin nieces," says Charlotte. "I wanted to explore the innocence, curiosity, fragility, and sensory discovery of new life."
