Wildside Encounters

Wildside Encounters Wildside Encounters offer a hands on experience with a wide range of tarantulas, scorpions, praying mantids, beetles and other invertebrates.

Wildside Encounters has been set up to help educate peoples awareness of the natural world. Although the animal display days focus on many of the exotic species we also offer information on British species including identification, conservation and wildlife gardening advice, nature walks, pond dipping sessions etc.. Although Wildside Encounters is a new name I have been lecturing for 28 years and

finally decided to give it an official name. My background is that since an early age I have been involved in wildlife and ran the Reptile and Wildlife Rescue for 13 years and also wrote for numerous magazines, nature journals as well as forums. Sheree is new to the animals and knows what it is like to have a dislike of some of the species (her weakness is beetles!)
All of the animals we use are captive bred (usually by ourselves) and do not use wild caught species. I feel that is important for children and adults to actually handle the animals as well as just seeing them as they don't usually get the opportunity to meet these animals and see what they feel and move like. I am always happy to answer any questions that are asked
We always appreciate comments / photos / drawings etc on our page from events you have attended or garden wildlife children have drawn
