he local UNA branches; UNA Birmingham & UNA West Midlands. Our membership is incredibly diverse, welcoming in a broad range of Birmingham students from undergraduates through to postgraduates from different backgrounds. In part, this is down to the tolerant and respectful atmosphere expected and maintained throughout society events. Our main activities include weekly Model United Nations debates, as well as a wide spectrum of campaigns (Climate Change, Cultural understanding, UNICEF fundraising, asylum seekers’ rights, outreach program into local schools, etc.). We invite external speakers on a regular basis and attend national and international conferences. We also have a growing involvement with UNA-UK and UNA Youth. The society, through our meetings and events, is the place to find like-minded people, make friends for life and enjoy an enriching university experience. This society is a place for debates out real world issues, we tolerate the respectful and constructive debate of most topics, nearly all subjects We combine research and knowledge with advocacy and active campaigns and in this way seek to provide access to global politics for Birmingham students.
