This sounds like an interesting exhibition.

Bleeding Out explores artistic responses to medical misogyny and the crisis in healthcare for women and marginalised people in the UK. The exhibition confronts the disparities in diagnosis, treatment, research and compassion that shape our lived experiences. Creativity blooms as an antidote, a rebellion, and a way to speak when systems and society refuse to listen.

Hosted at Seventh Circle Gallery in Birmingham from 31 July - 9 August, the exhibition includes a special collaboration with Cysters the West Midlands based charity who advocate nationwide for representation, inclusion and equitable womens’ healthcare. Featuring works by 7 talented West Midlands based artists, whose practices illuminate these realities and offer hope for a better future.

Make your voice heard about community life in the UK

We know WI members are at the heart of our communities up and down the UK, Wales, and the islands; but too often our voices aren't heard or heeded by those making decisions or shaping policy.

That's why NFWI is supporting the National Conversation - one of the biggest listening surveys in a generation, asking one simple question: what kind of country and community do you want to live in?

It's independent, run by Nuffield College, University of Oxford. It's anonymous. And it takes just 12 minutes. The answers will shape the work of the Independent Commission on Community & Cohesion, co-chaired by Sir Sajid Javid and Jon Cruddas.

We're supporting the National Conversation because the WI's community deserves to be heard. Please take part today.

Our sister Federation, Staffordshire, has invited us to their wellness event:

You are invited to come along to our Wellness Day on Saturday 26 September 2026 at The Members Pavilion, Staffordshire County Showground, Weston Road, Stafford ST18 0BD

The day is made possible following the successful bid for a Denman Trust Federation Grant by Staffordshire Federation.

It is open to all women - not just WI members - and is free of charge for all.

It aims to promote health and wellbeing, giving women time for themselves in their busy lives and showing what the WI can offer.

Activities include Mindful Art, Hand Massage, Chair Yoga, Journaling, Craft Demonstrations, Health Checks, Trade Stalls and More.

It also allows businesswomen and female health professionals an opportunity to promote their businesses and services free of charge.

The event is open from 10am to 4pm with free tea/coffee/water available all day.

We are horrified by this news and call on all friends, neighbours and supporters to help us by responding to the consultation.
We've always campaigned for the underlying rail improvements, but it does NOT have to mean losing a precious resource for the whole city that has been five decades in the making. Another way is possible! See link in first comment.

Just as a reminder, due to the residential location, there is no parking at CoCoMAD apart from a small number of spaces for drivers with limited mobility. These are available on a first come first served basis. Chairs are available for those waiting at the entrance for collection and drop offs.

We need you to get involved!

This Saturday at CoCoMAD, there are a few events that we need mass participation for. So, why not come and join us for a bit of fun. Here's what's happening:

13:10 - During Out for the Craic's set, in front of the main stage will be a group ceilidh
14:30 - Leaving from the circus field at 2:30, CircusMASH UK and Blue Sky Brass will be leading the CoCoConga around the festival site
15:40 - Join leader Sarah for a group Swingfit session on the main stage field.

🎨We're so pleased to be taking part in in collaboration with Stirchley Printworks. Together, a group of the women we work with will create lino prints, to tell their stories, and mark our 40th year. The combined prints will be made into one commemorative work.

Last year BH&M WI worked together to make the bunting for this wonderful event. If you’ve never been, it is a must see and a fabulous day out.

This year’s trail has something for everyone — peaceful retreats, bold redesigns, wildlife friendly spaces, and a few gardens that people return to year after year. Add in the excitement of first time openers, and it’s the perfect day to explore Moseley at your own pace.
