Livein Hope “Since Hope’s tragic death Nazan has campaigned tirelessly for better road safety, on a national scale, but specifically in the Kings Heath area.

“She has unstintingly raised the issue of road safety for pedestrians through the establishment of the impactful ‘Live In Hope’ campaign. We hope that the campaign will lead to changes being made not only in Kings Heath, but the wider area and HGV industry, including restricting access for HGVs on unsuitable roads and improving use of lorry mirrors.

“This award from RoSPA is recognition of all the effort Nazan has put into this and her heart-felt commitment to improving the safety of others in the future.”

Ann added “Nazan has also raised the issue of mobile phone use when driving in the media. As part of our work to represent Nazan we secured evidence to show that the lorry driver who hit Hope had been exchanging text messages shortly before the incident. Sadly this is something that we come across time and time again, despite it being against the law to use a mobile phone when driving.

**UK NEWS** 💔A family has said it was “ripped apart within six hours” after a woman died in a car crash while travelling to identify her son’s body. Andrew Tinsley, 46, a father of three, died in what relatives described as “a tragic accident” in the River Dee in Llangollen, North Wales, on 10 July.

His mother, Carol Tinsley, 70, was travelling from West Derby with his former partner and children, aged 21, 20 and 17, to Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

As they passed through Chester, about 30 minutes from the hospital, the car they were in was involved in a major collision, and Mrs Tinsley died at the scene, the Liverpool Echo reports.💔

| We are issuing a fresh appeal for information after a cyclist who was hit by a car in has sadly died.

A 25-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a collision on Brandwood Park Road at around 9.25pm on 3 January.

He has since tragically died and we're supporting his family and loved ones at this traumatic time.

It’s understood the collision involved a silver BMW which failed to stop at the scene.

A 30-year-old man was arrested and has since been bailed while our enquiries continue.

Anyone with any information, particularly dash cam footage is urged to get in touch with us. You can do this via 101 or Live Chat, quoting log 4855 of 3 January.

5 teenagers got out of the collision (some with fractured ribs etc)…but they got out due to wearing their seatbelts.

The potential result if no belts were worn isn’t worth thinking about.
