EBCF West Midlands Supporting neighbourhoods with jobs, enterprise and training at our centres throughout the West Midlands.

EBCF West Midlands provide FREE courses and trainnig to anyone aged 19+ within the Birmingham area; helping them get into work. We provide the following courses for FREE:

Our remote courses are available for employed individuals living in Birmingham, Sandwell and Solihull, with sign-ups open throughout September and October.

Choose from:
• Health and Social Care Level 1 & Level 2
• Customer Service Level 1 & Level 2
• Warehousing with FLT Level 1 & Level 2
• Digital Skills Level 1 & Level 2
• Team Leading Level 2

Learn remotely at your own pace, with courses lasting up to 12 weeks.

Free gym membership and bus pass support are also available if needed.

A big thank you to GoodGym for helping brighten up our Summerfield Community Centre! 🎨

After their team run from the city centre, the group enjoyed some pizza before getting stuck into painting our new community and heritage room.🍕

Combining staying active with giving something back to the local community, they brought plenty of energy, teamwork and enthusiasm to the centre.

Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make Summerfield a more welcoming space for local people. A big thank you also to Frank Harris for bringing us together!

Read a Book Day encourages us all to pick up a book and spend some time reading. But for many people, reading confidently in English is not something they can take for granted.

During the 2025–26 academic year, 41% of our learners did not hold a recognised English qualification and were enrolled on an ESOL course at EBCF.

For these learners, learning English was about much more than completing a course. It was about building the confidence to read and understand information, communicate in everyday situations, continue learning and access new opportunities.

So, as we mark Read a Book Day, it is also worth recognising those for whom being able to read and understand English with confidence represents meaningful progress in itself.

International Youth Day is an opportunity to recognise both the potential of young people and the shared challenges they face around the world, including access to education, skills and employment.

The UK continues to face these challenges too, particularly for young people who are not currently in education, employment or training (NEET).

At EBCF, we are committed to helping young people develop the skills and confidence they need to move forward.

During the 2025–26 academic year, 16% of total learners on our courses were categorised as NEET, reflecting our ongoing work to create accessible pathways back into learning, training and employment.

58% progressed into employment with an additional 17% accessing higher education.

If you are aged 19–25 and not in education or employment, we have a range of FREE courses that can help you develop new skills and take your next step.

Smiles, laughter and a whole lot of community spirit!

Our Summer Community Event brought families, friends and local residents together for a brilliant day of fun, activities and memorable moments.
