Chris, Paul and Lynn this past weekend were instructed how and carried out the boiler washout on Betton, Paul got the muckiest we have ever seen him🤣 but did a good job! Mudhole doors and washout plugs all cleaned and ready to go. Back this coming weekend to help finish the job.

It is with profound sadness to say that one of our working volunteers Bill Hall has passed away. Bill was a enthusiastic and generous supporter of Betton Grange and until quite recently still managed to visit us at Tyseley, although his health has not been that good. Bill was always cheerful, always willing to lend a hand, he was a talented model engineer and also supported other loco groups.He will be greatly missed and was a very dear friend. God Bless Bill.

Two years today Betton operated her first revenue train, we are still enjoying this Gala but unfortunately due to the heat and delays yesterday the decision has been taken to withdraw her today due to some firebars overheating, becoming distorted and falling into the ashpan. We are still in the marquee and raising funds for the new tender.

Having a great time at the Cotswold Festival of Steam at Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway , it is hot hot hot and that is not only the steam engines😁, lots to see and buy! Loved seeing the Dakota today, and the Spitfire yesterday (no photo)

Well that's a wrap, the chassis now ready for the next stage of restoration. This week we had just the Fab Four to finish off (no not John, Paul, George and Ringo but Chris, Paul, Steve and Lynn), thanks for their graft today.

The Magnificent 7 at Tyseley today, despite the weather we made good progress on cleaning and painting the chassis. Thanks as ever to Team Betton, 7 of us today, Chris,Lynn, Barry, Paul, Oliver, Antonia and a very welcome return to Max!
