Malaysia is full of people who’ve come from places where Christ is least known. Students. Migrant workers. Refugees. Families trying to find safety and a future. Many arrive with big hopes and heavy stories.

And God hasn’t forgotten them. Churches across Malaysia are building friendships on campuses, offering support to vulnerable communities and finding new ways to reach frontier peoples who have had little chance to hear about Jesus.

Pray for open doors, steady workers and deep partnerships that help the gospel take root in these communities. Save this to pray with us today 🇲🇾

BMS helps support five migrant church planters through the European Baptist Federation, in Spain, Serbia, Lithuania, Ukraine and the Czech Republic. Pray that these churches will be welcoming spaces for people who have had to flee.

Our field has requested prayer protection for 29 women’s discipleship classes currently happening in different areas of Bangladesh. At least one has been forced to shut down due to extremist threats.

“We humbly request prayer for God’s protection over each of these classes,” says our local partner. ”Women are often among the most vulnerable in times of persecution, and for those who are [converts from Islam], the intensity of pressure is often much higher.

“Pray that the Lord will protect them, strengthen their faith, and allow these gatherings to continue safely. We humbly request your prayers.”

It’s a decision that Somali Christians must now confront.

In a recent public address, Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre didn’t mince words: Any Somali converting to another religion will lose their citizenship.

“Somalia and Islam go together; they cannot be separated,” he declared. “A Somali who is not a Muslim, is not Somali.”

The speech emphasized what Somali Christians have long known: Following Jesus in Somalia is incredibly dangerous and leads to rampant persecution.

As you can imagine, losing their citizenship places Somali Christians at even greater risk. Today as you pray, remember your Somali brothers and sisters struggling to follow Jesus in the second-most dangerous country for Christians.
