As the Muslim background church grows, there is an urgent need for discipleship that helps new believers grow from their first steps towards maturity in Christ and become disciple-makers in their own communities.

Across the world, God is drawing people from Muslim backgrounds into a relationship with Jesus. Coming to faith can be the beginning of an incredible journey - but new believers also need discipleship and Christian communities where they are welcomed, cared for and able to grow.

Word of Life exists to serve in this space.

We are a global community of Christ’s followers from Muslim and other backgrounds, serving with Christ’s followers of Muslim background and helping the global church welcome, equip and learn from them.

Through discipleship courses, training, research and our work with churches, we want to see new believers grow from their first steps of faith into maturity and become disciple-makers themselves.

Summer events can open up natural opportunities for conversations and friendship with our Muslim neighbours. Our partners at Mahabba Network are encouraging Christians to pray for these encounters, including through their regular Friday online prayer time.

Pray that summer community events, festivals and celebrations bring opportunities to share our faith with Muslim friends and strangers through friendly and relaxed encounters.

✅ Join us online on Fridays 12-12:30pm UK time to pray for Muslims performing their .
✅ Sign up for our newsletter and/or a local group to pray with us and encourage each other.
✅ Check out the many resources we have on our website to help you effectively pray for and engage with Muslims.

This is a participant-led, open time of prayer, to join with whoever is present to as you and others feel led.

We encourage everyone who can to join our regular online weekly and monthly prayer meetings, as well as praying together with your Mahabba groups.

What does it mean to be a Christian minority community, particularly in the context of Islam? A new accessible academic publication explores questions of identity and vocation for Christian minority communities.

It includes a chapter co-authored by Hikma Partnership leaders Parsa Zarin Ghalam and Pat Brittenden, exploring identity, persecution, pilgrimage and exile through the discipleship journeys of Christ’s followers of Muslim background using the Come Follow Me course.
