Penrith Young Farmers were proud to bring back the Penrith Rally after more than 20 years.
Held on Friday 27th March at Penrith Auction, this marked the first Rally since 2000, after the event was unable to go ahead in 2001 due to the Foot and Mouth outbreak. It was fantastic to see it return in the Club’s 90th anniversary year, with a good turnout and a brilliant atmosphere throughout the evening. We were delighted to welcome members from Skelton, Eden Valley, Caldbeck and Brampton clubs.
The evening featured a wide range of competitions, including Mystery Stock Judging of crisps, mugs and hats; industrial classes such as Cowboy Cookies and Cowboy Bread; along with fun events like egg throwing, plaiting and more.
The Rally Trophy is the Henry Jackson Memorial Trophy, originally presented by the late Henry Jackson, who founded the club and led it for 30 years. Congratulations to Penrith, who won the Henry Jackson Memorial Trophy by just 10 points ahead of Skelton.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the night, and we hope this is something that can continue for years to come.
Our thanks go to Penrith Auction for hosting us, Katy Edgar for the catering, and all the judges and stewards -including County and Northern District officials; as well as our Advisory and Committee members for ensuring the event ran smoothly.
Finally, thank you to everyone who came along and showed their support.💚🖤
