Tonight, our thoughts and thanks are with the firefighters, police officers and ambulance crews working tirelessly across the Birmingham area as they face savage fires and extreme conditions.
These emergency services colleagues are putting themselves in harm’s way, working long hours and overtime to protect people’s homes, property and, most importantly, lives — often while their own families are waiting for them at home.
We are incredibly grateful for their bravery, professionalism and dedication.
Our FastAid volunteers were pleased to play a small supporting role at the Gorleston Road fire, taking some much-needed cold fizzy drinks to responders on scene.
It is only a small gesture, but we hope it helped those working in the extreme heat to stay refreshed.
To everyone on the frontline tonight: thank you for everything you are doing to keep our communities safe. ❤️
