What are our values, and what do they mean to us?

During our latest session, our participants explored this exact question. Led by a volunteer psychologist our participants had the opportunity to express their core values through creative designs 🎨

After a thoughtful morning, we had a relaxing, but competitive afternoon playing board games and table tennis 💛

Our apprenticeships, in one of our social enterprises , offer personalised pathways that bridge the gap between education and employment. Many young people leave education without the qualifications, confidence or support needed to progress.
Challenges such as trauma, insecure housing, neurodiversity, abuse and poor mental health can leave them at risk of long-term economic inactivity.

By meeting each young person where they are, we help them build confidence, resilience and the foundation for lasting success

With entry-level jobs harder to come by, young people in Birmingham with limited to no work experience or qualifications, now have even less opportunities and hope in finding employment.

Our social enterprise apprenticeships offer a Level 2 NVQ qualification alongside tailored support for many different barriers: anxiety, neurodivergence, financial barriers, and more.

A lack in confidence is fueling young people's self-doubt, increasing the difficulty in breaking the cycle of entering employment whilst tackling the lack of entry level opportunities.

Our projects provide the support and resources to help break down the barriers into employment that a large percentage of young people are facing. Whether they lack motivation, experience, confidence or require more intense support, we at JERICHO want to help.

Apprenticeships in our social enterprises provide hands-on experience and tailored support to the individuals needs, to help remove any barriers they have towards their journey to long term employment.

Paul’s experience was not without hardship.
After facing more challenges with his exploiter and his Home Office status, he was met with immediate support from Equiano who provided him a new phone SIM and referred him to counselling.

Towards the end of his placement, he received the news that The Wood Shack had asked to extend his volunteer placement. Paul felt immense joy as he also wanted to continue working with the team and he felt his efforts were recognised.

Paul is very proud of his journey. He pulled himself out of deep depression, found purpose in his work, and improved his quality of life through better financial stability.

“Jericho is the home of hope.”

A few snapshots from our health and wellbeing day with our Equiano participants 💛
With conversations about how to contact NHS services, their local GPs and common health knowledge they may not be aware of to ensure they maintain good physical and mental health

Then we ended the afternoon with a fun game of mini golf at Cannon Hill Park ⛳
