Our social trips mean so much to our participants to be able to visit places in Birmingham and other cities, that they may have never been able to.

For our participants who are survivors of modern day slavery, social trips are a great way to familiarise themselves with the local community and understand local transport, and even a way to make their first friends in a new country.

🗣️“Thank you very much for organising social trips. For me, social trips are a great relief.
Through the trips and other activities by Jericho, I have risen from the ashes of exploitation and slavery and now my destiny is in my own hands.”

We're delighted to be chosen as West Brom Building Society's charity of the year once again! To continuously be recognised for our impact in supporting people facing barriers to employment.

We're so grateful to continue working alongside a like-minded organisation like them, and for their fantastic fundraising efforts they're set to produce for another year 💜

We’re delighted to announce that our Charity of the Year for 2026 – 2027 is Jericho Foundation 💛

Jericho are an award-winning Birmingham charity with six social enterprises, providing supported work opportunities for people facing extreme challenges in getting a job, primarily supporting marginalised young people and survivors of modern slavery.

We’re passionate about supporting people to own a more secure future through access to housing and financial wellbeing, which is at the heart of the West Brom’s purpose. Jericho align closely with our purpose through providing vital support to help reduce isolation, support recovery, and promote inclusion.

We’ve been partnered since 2024 and have been fundraising and providing support since.

We’re looking forward to another year of strengthening our amazing partnership with Jericho Foundation 💜

🗣️”Our thanks to you are endless. There is no way to fully express how grateful we are for today. If it were not for you, we would never have made it to Cardiff.

Since arriving in this country, I had never been to the beach. My neighbour, who came here with me, has been here for 14 years and had never been to the beach either. Today made that dream come true for us.

Our children enjoyed every moment as well, and it was truly a wonderful day.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and for giving our families such a special memory. We will never forget it.”

From avoiding social interactions due to anxiety to hearing “I would never have known you struggled with anxiety”

Mira* talks through her journey at JERICHO, how she overcame her barriers to now - a HR apprentice at JERICHO

Support from our Prosper Project was exactly what Mira needed, to feel heard, to be given the space to speak more confidently, and provide her with an improved skillset for job interviews and her CV

Mira was blamed for ‘lacking adaptability’ which led her to withdraw further and impacting her self-esteem, until she received support from JERICHO ‘which felt like a breath of fresh air’

“I realised my barriers don’t define me, I can overcome them with the right support”

Happy !
A week to celebrate the well deserving volunteers who choose to donate their time to fantastic causes.
In case you needed an extra reason to volunteer, you aren't just supporting a great cause but will positively impact your own life

1. The obvious - volunteering is a valuable experience to add to your CV, allowing you to develop your skillset as well as personally

2. Many of our participants who are survivors of modern day slavery struggle with loneliness and don't leave their house much; a couple hours a week of volunteering allows them to meet and socialise with new people, which can be vital in improving their mental and physical wellbeing

3. You'll never learn more about the impact of JERICHO then when you're integrated into it, allowing you to spread this to everyone you know!

4. Giving back connects you to something larger than yourself and the positive impact you have a hand in producing supports the boost in your self-esteem

From sitting in university seminars with the answer on the tip of her tongue, anxiety keeping her silent, to speaking confidently in meetings in front of colleagues

Real change happens when people feel supported, seen, and believed in

Through hands-on experience and a supportive environment at Jericho , she feels less controlled by her anxiety

"My anxiety hindered me from many opportunities - I said no even when i wanted to say yes"
That doesn't need to be the everyday reality for Mira* anymore

After an amazing 20 year career at JERICHO, our ex-CEO Richard received an MBE for services to social enterprise and to the community in Birmingham.
After receiving is medal from Princess Anne, he and his family went for a cream tea at a hotel by the river and then jetted off to sunny Lanzarote to continue the celebrations! 🌞

"I remain hugely grateful to all my colleagues and friends who were involved in putting me forward for this award. It was an experience of a lifetime and a fabulous way to end a 20-year career at Jericho."

Meet Joanne, who has a huge part in the journey of sustainable employment for our participants who are survivors of modern day slavery

"I feel proud to be part of an organisation that helps people in such an amazing way, where a holistic approach is taken and where people can get a lot of help with what they need.
It feels so rewarding when participants get to the point of being ready for work"
