Today on International Archives Day, we’re shining a light on the stories stitched into Girlguiding’s past. Our archives hold more than 100 years of memories — and our badges are a huge part of that.
Our brilliant work‑experience student has begun cataloguing interest badges for our Badges Project, discovering rare early designs with support from our dedicated Archives team.
If you have interest badges tucked away from your guiding days, we’d love to give them a home in our collection. Every badge tells a story 💙

Abi Mullin one of our leaders and D of E team says ‘Would you like to receive a FREE workshop in your unit meeting place, allowing your Guides to contribute to research on teenage girls co-designing inclusive green spaces? The activities would also enable girls to work towards their Architects for Action UMA from the Take Action theme.

Zoe is a Doctoral Researcher from Birmingham City University. She would like to support girls to use their unique experience of public green spaces to act as innovative co-designers of a future active park space in Birmingham. This would also foster girls' sense of ownership, leadership, design & community-mindedness.

Zoe can offer a free, fully risk assessed & resourced workshop (alongside a survey), allowing girls to have their say & spark change across Birmingham!
Please email Zoe to arrange your workshop ([email protected]) or email Abi from 122nd Guides ([email protected]) to discuss this opportunity.’

Wishing Anne McGibbon and Cath Hills a truly fabulous time tomorrow as they attend Girlguiding Celebrates at the Odeon Leicester Square. Their nominations recognise the inspirational work they do and the unwavering support they give as volunteers.

Anne’s nomination was so powerful that it’s being shared as a case study at the event — a wonderful testament to her impact and dedication.

HQ recently emailed some volunteers about the phasing out of the Asst. Leader role.

This will not impact those who have done the new Leadership scheme (LDP) or those that have ALQ module 4 recorded on their GO record.

For anyone who did the old scheme but not module 4 don't panic there is a short elearning you can do on the learning platform called 'Top-up' . It takes c. 1-1.5 hours and can be found under the Leader Devt Programme section. On the next page, click the 'leaders & Assistant leaders (ALQ)' tab, then select 'Top-up course' on the middle of the page.

In addition to the elearning you also need to attend a 1.5 hour Effective Communication training. Warwickshire are putting on a no. of zoom Effective Communication sessions on the following dates / times:

· Saturday 11th July @ 10am

A big thank you to all of our volunteers who give their time, skill and enthusiasm to make life long memories for girls aged 4-18 and support our leaders.

Our County Ranger Camp took place at Beaconsfield on the hottest weekend of the year so far.

A bouncy castle, whittling, a night walk, fun and games, and plenty of food all featured over the weekend. There was lots of laughter, new friendships formed, and lifetime memories created.

Thank you to all the leaders who made it happen and to the Rangers who came along and made it such a fantastic weekend.

“When is the next one?”

County Guide Camp is coming up soon, and planning has already started for a big County Camp next May for all our members.

We’ll be looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help make it another unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
